Video of black man assaulting an Asian woman in the streets:

This is a man who was arrested 41 times. After this incident he was released & went on to send a subway worker to the hospital with a broken collarbone. But according to this crime reporter, the man committing assaults/breaking bones is the real victim.

The correct and sane take here, Ana. But no, look at all the top comments:

quote:

love you, Ana, but this is not a good take.

quote:

What is the solution? Just caging people in solitary? The issue here is an issue of no social safety nets and no mental health care. Prisons and cops do not prevent crime and anecdotes are not helpful. This is what @equalityAlec was saying.

quote:

Really Ana, just lean into the propaganda because it financially helps you. You push these narratives, clearly picking sides. You are not a truth teller or progressive, you are propaganda. Violence stems from root issues you fail to report on.

quote:

What solution(s) are you proposing then?

I don't think anyone is defending the violence this person is inflicting on others, but how is this not a discussion for guaranteeing basic needs, mental health reform, and rehabilitative justice???

Prison isn't the answer clearly.

quote:

So you think the answer is to arrest them harder a 42nd time? It's not about defending someone, it's recognizing the entire system of failures that led to that point. Yet Ana now wants to double down on failed approaches as a stopgap that won't stop anything.

quote:

Technically, they both could be.

The worker is definitely the victim of assault (crime).

The man is potentially victim of housing, health, and judicial policy.

quote:

very cool that lauren southern is now retweeting you

quote:

Why should his release be contingent on how much money he has?

quote:

You should feel a deep sense of shame Ana.

quote:

When are you going to start writing for The Post Millennial, Ana?

Can't wait till Andy Ngo retweets this

quote:

investment in housing, healthcare, mental health, education and lead poisoning prevention instead of police and prisons will help reduce crime/ focusing on bail reform as @AnaKasparian does here is a right wing distraction

quote:

Ana you’re literally a Madeleine Albright stan. You don’t get to lecture anyone about law and order or whatever Katzenberg has you say.

quote:

Your rant about it included the accusation that progressives want to "JUST LET THESE MANIACS GO AROUND ASSAULTING AND KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE INCLUDING WORKERS." This is something you said which may have been from frustration but you have to be more responsible with your platform

quote:

Why watch Fox News or read Breitbart if you can follow Ana Kasparian

Now let’s change this to a white guy knocking out a black woman when he had already been arrested 41 times. What do you think these clowns would say then? I’m willing to bet Ana’s reaction would still be the same, but it’d be the exact opposite from these retards. These people have lost their fricking minds.

I don’t understand the mindset of those who say keeping a repeat offender in jail will accomplish nothing. What?
Yes it will accomplish something, it will stop the repeat offender from being a repeat offender again.

The only solution to this problem is private citizens taking the matter into their own hands and ELIMINATING these problems.

That’s like people who say the death penalty isn’t a deterrent to keeping people from murdering. It sure as hell was a deterrent to the bastards in the chair or on the gerney

If the city or state won’t prosecute repeat violent offenders, citizens should expect the same treatment when they take matters into their own hands, buy a gun, and protect themselves.

If we soaked the criminals in gasoline and lit a match, I assure you his crime spree will not reach 50.

I am responsible for my actions.

I made the decision to not commit a crime yesterday and I didn’t

I am trying not to commit a crime today, there’s still the opportunity.

Ultra progressives are always looking for an excuse and will never grasp that unfortunately there have always been and will always be people who are simply wired to be bad people.

There’s not always a good person underneath just waiting to be rehabilitated and brought to the surface.

If someone commits violent offense after violent offense, they aren’t always just simply crying out for help underneath it all. Sometimes you have someone who simply enjoys the evil shite they’re doing.

You can’t utopia your way into everybody being happy and unicorns.

That’s a harsh, unfortunate reality of life.

I’m as big a believer in redemption as anyone and love such stories but for the good of society itself, society has draw a line. Yeah, 41 fricking arrests is wayyy past that line.

Well even assuming the progs have a legit argument (highly debatable), how long should we put up with crime run amok before their “reforms” take effect ?

Corparal punishment is the only thing that really works. Look at Singapore. We are not so far advanced as humans as poeple think. You make a extremely undesirable consequence of an action. Hence you will see a reduction of that action being performed. Most mentally ill poeple wont touch something hot. Why cause theres a consequence. Now some type of corporate punishment for striking someone in this manner. Wouldnt take 41 times for the action to stop being performed

Locking them up for the rest of their life also works, and porch...it’s cheaper.

Just viewed the video. What amazes me is that there are at least two "men" around, and they do nothing.
The jerk evens hangs around for awhile after he punched that lady. Most guys I know would have started beating that jerk.
