Anyone know of any good text books for these subjects? With the revisionist of history going on right now, I want to get some text books to start teaching my kids the proper history of America and the world.

The Gulag Archipelago. Particularly important that this message gets spread in a time where the left is indoctrinating young people with fanciful ideas about the greatness of Marxism.

Paul Johnson is a good author. Mises provides plenty of free materials by writers such as John T. Flynn.

Bill Bennett has some great American history books....just Google them up, or better yet, use DuckDuckGo so the commies don't track you

I seriously have no idea how the hell this book ever passed muster. There are no footnotes anywhere in that book. He has a bibliography at the end but a lot of the shite he cites from those sources are taken entirely out of context.

Howard Zinn is the textbook example (literally) of revisionist history.

Apologies but I can't keep up with the ironic posts here anymore. Are you making a legitimate reference or being ironic? Because if you are being serious then you can eat a dick. On the other hand, if you are being ironic, cheers.

(NOTE: If you are posting something ironically it would be useful to add something that lets the rest of us know what your intent might be. A little clarity is useful when posting dogshit, horrible, a-hole ideologies in that it informs non-crazy people capable of pragmatic thought of what your perspective might be.

Cheers.

Several years ago I was doing some renovations at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga. In the history building they were throwing out tons of history books. World and American. I thought nothing of it at the time, maybe they were getting new books. It makes me wonder now.

Oh, c’mon!

I’ve barely been posting 3 months and I have read enough of TOTM’s posts to know he is stirring the pot!

Hot Take: I love TD and spend a lot of time here but I shouldn't have to do due-diligence on a poster's history to understand what they are inferring. Consider this to be the opening salvo of the 'frick! JUST STATE WHAT YOU ARE SAYING a-hole 2020' movement. The movement is 100% invested in making TD less fricking retarded than 4Chan. 8Chan, 16Chan, 32Chan, and the really confusing 128Chan.

Anyway, it takes maybe 5 seconds to add a little context, like "look at this retarded commie...", or "like this insane piece of shite said about America...". Either one of those blurbs would have kept me from having to even make this post. We have too many posters that are exhibiting democrat level laziness in posting. Don't make TD suck like everywhere else on the internet. Just spend 5 seconds on posting something by adding value.

Paul Johnson is a good author.

He is. But his thousand page books are better suited for adult readers and are less like text books.

I don't remember exactly the year, but I remember reading and studying this while in school at U-High in Baton Rouge. I still have the book in my collection on one of these shelves somewhere.
