Here's a good explanation of what the numbers are ACTUALLY:
"Financial journalist and author James Surowiecki, via X: "Just figured out where these fake tariff rates come from. They didn't actually calculate tariff rates + non-tariff barriers, as they say they did. Instead, for every country, they just took our trade deficit with that country and divided it by the country's exports to us."
"It's also important to understand that the tariff rates that foreign countries are supposedly charging us are just made-up numbers," he added. "South Korea, with which we have a trade agreement, is not charging a 50 percent tariff on U.S. exports. Nor is the EU charging a 39 percent tariff."
Brief Newsweek Article

Its not hostile when the other countries started it. The tariffs are necessary to even the playing field
With that said, I wish they didn't spend weeks framing this as being "reciprocal" and being a tit for tat tariff exchange. What they ended up doing was basing tariffs on the trade deficit instead of just matching the tariff rates the other country has on us.
This makes no sense for poor countries who cant afford to buy our goods, but produce shite we dont grow here (like coffee, cocoa, bananas). Those are the natural trade deficits. The trade deficits we have with EU, Canada, China etc are bullshite

yeah, that chart presented by Trump is just a brazen, objective lie.
It's truly astonishing.

What's more astonishing is the retards here that are completely ok with being lied to after it is pointed out to them

Some of you really need to reconsider taking anything a politician says at face value. For example, when you see them raising a table that says Switzerland is charging a 61% tariff on American goods, you should be more suspicious.

Willful blindness. Probably running to social media to be told what to think. This is devolving into some serious amateur hour level bullshite.
