Objection, facts not in evidence. Plenty of this shite went on before anyone had heard of hippies.

We're not meant to be monogamous. Period.

Problem is, it's undeniably better to have monogamous, nuclear families in most societies throughout history. Including ours, obviously.

So there's an impasse. And problems result from attempting to conform. Whether it be from infidelity, sexual orientation, or some other variation that society and religion do their best to tamp down.

It's the same shite as people today thinking athletes of yesteryear were choir boys who kept themselves out of trouble more than today's stars. Ain't true in the least

I also think much of it has to do with an attitude of “no one can judge me.” As if only someone who is perfect can tell anyone else that they are doing wrong and since no one is perfect, no one can call anyone out.

Society only works if we hold each other accountable. Admonishing the sinner is actually considered a mercy in Catholicism. We have lost so much of it. Live and let live have taken over to the detriment of the common good.
Finally, social safety nets are good but they give people the ability to live outside of a set of norms imposed by ones family/community structure. There was a time when you had to rely on your family/church/community if you fell in hard times or you screwed up so bad you ruined your life. Today, the government is there making it easier to give mom and dad the finger if they don’t like how you live your life.

I use emoticons in probably well over 90% of my posts, clown

"Fiancee" does not mean what you asserted for blacks. The emoticon was in response to your inane generalization.

That's exactly where the discussion started. everyone pretty much agreed monogamy is unnatural for humans, and is a social construct. that lead to "if its ok for 2 monkeys to hump on the hood of a car in a safari park, it's only NOT OK for us because we made that rule up"

False equivalence. Individuals possess different levels of honesty, ethics, empathy, etc.
You say people are not meant to be monogamous by nature. But there are tons of people who get married and stay faithful to their spouse until they die. OTOH, there are tons of people who have sex with anything that moves. Which one is natural? Or is natural someone half way?

Athletes of yesteryear were very different. Gerry Dinardo said that when he was a FB player at Notre Dame there were ZERO players with a child. At LSU he had 20 players with children (none of them married).

That's because you're not good at logic, clown.

It's an perfectly accurate generalization. If you can't read the illegitimacy rates among blacks it's 76%. To call your baby momma your fiancee is what's inane.

They got up to the same and worse than athletes today. You're naive if you think otherwise tbh.

Except it stayed hidden because mainstream society would have rejected it. Now it's bleeding into the general society and to a small degree it's becoming normalized and more accepted, albeit slowly.

How many articles about polygamy would you have found even 20 years ago?

All you have to do is go to huffpo or new York Times to find some incredibly perverted article suggesting unorthodox sexual behaviors are actually "good for you".

How about porn? Porn used to be only naked women posing in a magazine, now it's full on videos...then it evolved to all sorts of other things.

You couldn't even find some stuff merely 20 years ago thats out there right now even if you wanted.

It's crept it's way into many more homes and minds through tv, the internet and our culture. There's no doubt about that.

You're not using logic. You're making generalizations.

Overgeneralization.

C'mon man. You can see the exact same shite in the barrio in Southern Cal or your local trailer park here the South.

That's not a refutation of the 'zero' vs. '20', moron.

All you do when presented with an argument is pretend it does not exist and post an emoticon. That's tard level.
