"Hispanic" has become a meaningless descriptor. What should be an ethnicity, has evolved into a boutique racial badge.
You can be a white chick from Colombia, but if your last name sounds Mexican you can be Hispanic and commiserate with your brown brethren.
Or you can be a dark arse Italian or Greek and you are white.

Just moved from Providence. My personal experience is that there are a LOT of Portuguese. Killer and victim both from Portugal
