Apparently not everyone is set against Trump's use of Twitter. Our soon to be Director of National Intelligence seems to like the fact that Prez the Don is a prolific tweeter.

quote:

"We as diplomats have to be at the forefront of trying to solve problems. You don't want to have a war, you want to avoid war, which means diplomats need to be able to talk," Grenell said.

"If you want to solve problems, you better have diplomats who are really tough -- diplomats who know how to push and know how to cajole ... so, I like having a president who's willing to be very tough."

quote:

"I think $400 billion in new defense promises for NATO members is one surefire way to point to the fact that the president's style has worked," the ambassador said.

And speaking of Mr. Grennell, the media is going to experience a total meltdown over this guy. Why?

quote:

In 2009, Grenell founded Capitol Media Partners, an international strategic media and public affairs consultancy with offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Washington, D.C. He was under contract with Fox News where he worked a contributor, commenting on foreign affairs and the media. He has written for The Wall Street Journal, CBS News, CNN, Politico, Huffington Post, The Washington Times, Newsmax, and Al Jazeera. In 2012, CNN ranked Grenell's social media outreach as one of the top 5, and Time magazine named Grenell as one of the Top 10 Political Twitter Feeds of 2014.

quote:

In June 2018, Grenell stirred controversy by telling Breitbart News, "I absolutely want to empower other conservatives throughout Europe, other leaders." It was viewed as anti-establishment. This was described as a breach of diplomatic protocol and a breach of Article 14 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which requires ambassadors to be politically neutral in the domestic politics of the countries where they serve. Prominent German politicians called for Grenell's dismissal.

This guy is anti-globalist to his core. The Germans especially do not like him. And to that I say, frick the Germans.

Just a quick search online, I can see the melt is strong over the Grenell decision.

Why they gotta go after a gay man like that?

I didn't know he was gay. Don't really care.

They don't like it because he doesn't toe the line in regards to the preferred liberal bias in our media.

DNI is a good spot for him to be in, IMO.

You just gotta look at it from their perspective. If you're a media guy that refuses to report the news in a fair and balanced way, he may in fact be an existential threat.

Ric is getting a lot of push back from the swamp so just based on that you know he's a good pick. Unfortunately he's only temporary unless the Senate confirms him which at this point is doubtful or the Senate goes into recess (which McConnell won't) and Trump can make a recess appointment. The Senate is full of swamp rats.

Hopefully Grenell can do enough damage to the swamp between now and the election. This likely short term assignment because Grenell is full on MAGA and the swamp hate him. After Grenell another MAGA guy can carry the torch and just frick up the swamp.

I believe the ODNI is responsible for making sure classified material is shared between agencies and he does have declassification authority. That declassification authority is what the swamp is scared of.

You're probably right.

I wonder if Trump is appointing him as a hatchet man?? If so, maybe this is an indication that they're about to lower the boom on the media somehow. I hope like hell they do. The legacy media is in desperate need of a cleansing.

Believe me, the guy that claimed that Grenell is an existential threat has no idea the meaning of existential. Corporate bosses told producers to use that buzz word and producers were sure to write it into teleprompters and made sure the buzz word is used in round table discussions especially at CNN and MSNBC.

Of course. And that's exactly the kind of shite I hope this guy is able to rectify, actually.

Give me the facts without your fricking opinion, please. Mockingbird style media needs to be shown the door.

That's exactly what Morning Joe and his lackeys were preaching this morning. He said the German media loathes this guy Grenell so in essence we should to.

If Senate will not accept him as permanent then immediately after his time is up appoint one of the staplers Klobuchar has thrown, then dismiss that and reappoint Grenell immediately as temp. again. Rinse and repeat for the next 4.75 years.

I care that he is gay. How often, unjustifiably, has the right been accused of phobias. Now when they complain about him the mantra, over and over, from the right should be...is that just a thinly veiled attempt to hide your homophobia?

He can serve for 270 days without confirmation.. It's a clear message to Barr to shat or get off the pot. if it's the later he can haveGrenell start declassifying, have Barr resign, and replace him with Sidney Powell and get the place cleaned up,
