No shite, that is why the privacy pearl clutchers here are comical.

OMG, Ring is sharing our data. Meanwhile, the next time we get on the web/phone, there will be all sorts of advertisements based words we have been saying out loud.

The conservative case for an all pervasive surveillance state. If you didn't have something to hide, you will now.

That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t limit it where you can. You don’t actually need these devices. At all. And what’s going to happen when people’s temperature settings are tampered with, your food monitored in your fridge, etc because of their fraudulent CC agenda and ESG. Play it safe and stay away from smart devices where you can.

At least with phones there are ways to protect yourself to some degree

Ok, what are you monitoring indoors and why?

I own a home as well, and we have home alarm and Ring outside. We do not do video or movement surveillance inside the home.

There are hills to die on, this is just not one of them

Ring sharing video data with LE is like the least worrisome item when it comes to how we are all being tracked.

By all means though, every one get worked up. Or you can just ditch Ring

For instance, a non-LE individual can violate the 4A all they want as long as they aren’t asked to so by LE and then turn it over to cops and it’s perfectly admissible.

These big tech companies are instruments/agents of the government.

This is how privacy is slowly eroded. Sad.

Are they watching me mow the lawn or something in real time?

How would you feel if they were busy watching your wife? probably not too happy.

I get it is private data, however there are needs to expedite ring footage for law enforcement when a crime occurs. How much would it suck for law enforcement to get approval from 20 home owners to view their ring data to catch a criminal?

I have Nest devices but just going to assume the same principal is applied to them too. I don't like the concept of it and it does bother me.

However.

The other part of me fricking wishes someone on the other side sat there and could listen every time my dog barks or my infant cries. If that's your thing, hell, I'll invite ya inside and you can help change a diaper.

We love our absolutes here, don't we.

If you believe in privacy, we expect you to no longer post here and carry no cell phone. If you cannot do that, well just more hot air

Instead of hypotheticals, go bring back some real examples of LE watching people's wives on Ring.

None of your business.

See how that works?

I would think that it would be used in tracking people or vehicles mostly but not a fan regardless because of misusing

Same, I do have an Amcrest doorbell that stores on a card, no cloud or contract. Works fine for me.

That is a lie. If that criminal harmed you or your family your tune would change. You would want to do and use everything possible to catch that criminal.

I'm not sure it is. I've been the victim of a break-in while I was home. Scary as shite. I absolutely will not put cameras in or on my house. Door/window alarms with local notification? Sure.

Not LE but they are doing these in short term rental properties, vacation homes.
