Black Mirror Episode 666
1) Lay off a significant portion of delivery truck driver workforce
2) Acclimate general public to flying drones in their neighborhoods as predictive programming to set the stage for law enforcement drones to be deployed thereafter
3) Once deployed, increase surveillance coverage with optics and audio "for your protection" in the name of prevention of "Domestic Terrorism," but really so that All-Seeing Eye can monitor your actions and whereabouts to ensure that you're being a good little compliant boy or girl.

Probably cheaper than paying for diesel. I'm assuming these things are battery powered right?
I have a drone that can ram anything that flies over my pool.

WEF video from 2013 (you will own nothing and be happy):
You will rent everything and it will all be delivered by drone

There are going to be massive logistical and technical issues once they roll this out. This is 10+ years away to be able to scale.

We already have driverless taxis where I live and I am sure those surveil us too

Probably be some interesting court cases in the future. Right now, your "air rights" for your property are supposed to extend 500 feet up. This has only been tested in court up to 83 feet with a Supreme Court ruling in 1946. Between 83 and 500 feet, we'll see I guess. So, if that drone is less than 83 feet in the air and comes across your property, it is trespassing. I say shoot the bastards.

I thought Amazon was already using drones in other markets.

Ummmm we are talking about California here, I don't think that would work out too well for you...

So there are some replies here that concern shooting down the drones.
But in all seriousness, how many of you will do that just to get blacklisted by Amazon because you probably depend on Amazon for more than 90% of your purchases. Amirite?

Not me. I don't have an Amazon account.
