why'd you fail to bold this part?

Are they deleting the recommendations for other books as well?

"Others who viewed this book also viewed 1984, The Communist Manifesto, and The Milli Vanilli Story."

If you are too stupid to recognize the cost / benefit of weeding out troll reviews on popular new releases versus any old book in the known universe then I can't help you. But nice ducking and diving.

Well I think the Milli Vanilli Story would be an appropriate exception.

I looked at the reviews this morning and there were over 1k and the star rating was 3.

When this thread was posted they were down to 800 reviews and the star rating was a 4.

Now there are only 704 and the star rating is a 4.5

With everyone arguing over verifiable vs unverifiable reviews on amazon (and other sites), would it really be that hard for amazon to have two ratings on all items? One coming for verified purchasers and one from non? I feel like that should be a pretty easy thing for them to setup.

I would prefer this. Because it would weed out people that haven't 100% for sure bought that item, without restricting the large majority that just didn't buy it from amazon (maybe they borrowed that rake their neighbor had and really like it?) But it would also give you a good validation if the reviews are close.

Well they are also fewer 5 star reviews than when I looked earlier.

Hey Navy, OT but do you have an opinion on what's going on with these Navy ships crashing into merchant ships in Asia?

I guess the amazon review system is the deciding factor for people and not all the interviews and press she's gotten...or that she's one of the most famous people on earth...no, I needed an amazon review to tell me whether I want to read a ghost written book

I bet if I look at a book by say...ted cruz or Donald trump. there will be a bunch of shitposting. I guess Hillary gets special treatment because she's a woman which puts a pretty big dent in her claim that being a woman is a disadvantage because America is so sexist.

ETA: I fully support trolls overwhelming review sections with shite posting. we need to hit them on every conceivable front and overwhelm them.

Why not do this for Trump's book ("Great Again") also?

That books is currently at 4.6 stars out of 2,033 reviews. It has 285 1-star reviews with only 32 of those being "verified".... You know good for the goose and all that...

Well the Art of the Deal and Great Again both have higher ratings (4.6) than Hillary's book, and since they have been out longer, they are less likely to be bought solely by rabid fans who tend to buy things first.

If people are not reading the book and just 1-staring it for the hell of it, then Amazon should be deleting those reviews.

I mean, come on, that's pretty damn petty to 1-star someone's product that you did not use/buy

Poor seamanship, poor training, "more with less" doctrine, and the chickens of the streamlined training program for surface warfare officers (which largely eliminated SWOS) all coming home to roost. The classes of officers that first started receiving this stripped down training are now entering their department head, XO, and CO tours.

the rating is irrelevant. do they have non verified reviews?

it's about the equal playing field...because i'm a feminist.

I actually don't care. amazon reviews but it is really funny to see all the free press, interviews, curated review sections, etc. this woman talks about pervasive sexism but basically everything she has or has had she owes to being held to a lower standard because she's a woman.

that's what i'm saying. puts a pretty big dent in her "i'm a victim of sexism" line

if anything she's the beneficiary of sexism.
