No joke. He cannot grasp what trump is saying. Trump specifically cites state and local taxes (meaning sales tax) while describing their competitive advantage over mom and pop stores. The federal tax code is consistent for all corporations. There is no inconsistency in what Trump said and the fed Corp rates. He also doesn’t understand that 21% of zero is the same as 35% of zero. All that matters to him is orange man bad.

Fair enough but it existed under Obama and yet they want to lay it at Trump's feet

I knew you knew that. Just giving you a little shite :)

But you are absolutely right. Anybody blaming the tjca for this is clueless.

This is the biggie in the thread.

The stupid frick's most recent post AGAIN reiterated that he doesn't understand the above. I mean, I thought he finally grasped that, but he STILL thinks that somehow, Trump's policy change had an effect on Amazon's 2018 tax liability.

It's fricking hilarious. Honestly, he can't be any LESS knowledgeable on quantum physics. He might as well find a QM board and go tell those people that the idea that particles can act as a wave is a farce and have at it!

You might as well have used Google translate to post your NOL post into Greek.

It would not have reduced Ebb's understanding one bit.

You know what's sad about people like Ebb?

This thread will not impact him one iota.

He won't take this thread as an indication to say to himself, "hey, I need to read up on this tax shite if it's going to be important to me".

And, failing that, he won't use it as an opportunity to say to himself, "ya know, I should avoid conversations on taxes because I don't know enough to really form an opinion".

NOPE. Not at all! He will continue to revel in his own ignorance.

I've never understood being happy with being ignorant on the basics of a subject. "Oh, let me have a strong opinion on business taxes, profits, etc etc when I can't even read a balance sheet!!! THAT will look smart!"

Plus, he will still be mad at us, for not "feeling" that it isn't fair. We are the 'problem'.

Compared to you on this subject I am a brain surgeon. That's not nearly as big a pad on my back as it is and knock on yours

Apparently you also know more than Forbes sincevthat was the original link. So apparently you look like a brain surgeon in comparison to a well renowned magazine about money.

The original link is from Forbes. You should go leave a comment on their page and tell them how dumb their understanding of money is

You’d be surprised at how many financial executives can’t hang when it comes to talking tax. The fact that TCJA was referenced in this article tells me all I need to know about the author’s shallow understanding of the topic.

Not sure why you keep raising the issue.

Can you explain like I'm 5 years old, what you mean by "regressive" corporate taxes? Or just kind of explain in general?

- The "Corporation" Amazon directly paid no taxes to the federal government
- But the shareholders of course pay taxes when selling shares, receiving dividends, all the people who now have jobs working for amazon pay taxes etc etc

I get that...

but I feel like there is more you can elucidate for me

So your defense to your ignorance and stupidity is that you just copy and believe what some journalist tells you to believe. we already knew that ebb. If Backfires, though, when you post to confirm your bias and you understand even less than the ignorant author. Sad.
