EDIT: Nevermind. My post was never intended to insult any active military or vets here. People took it the wrong way for some reason.

Our isolationism after WW1 proved this global strategy to be ineffective. The reason we are the global police is not to prevent the world’s irrational peons from killing one another, it’s to maintain our dominance over global policy and economics.

Actually I'm as flaming a leftist as they come and I've honestly been thinking about it. I do freelance bookkeeping and I'm bored af. Not saying I'm gonna join the Marines or something, just some nerdy desk job probably, but if they let me have a gun and run around a bit once every so often that'll be worth it. Basically I just wanna do a tough mudder and get a new job at the end, or join the reserves, w/e.
Probably less likely to die doing that than being a 3%er or something.

I'm a vet and I did my best to discourage my children from joining the military.
One of them did anyway and is in Army Basic Training right now.
