Obviously all real men should wear skinny jeans, have ironic mustaches and designer, big glasses, and enjoy watching their wives get fricked by other men.

Do you want a draft? Because this is how you get a draft.

So you are a coward and most likely the result of jody railing your mom while her husband was in Nam. Be proud.

I don't know if those numbers are accurate. Statistic Brain doesn't give you any indication of how those numbers are collected.
If I'm reading the Army's own report right, then there is a difference between what the Army reports and what is on the website you used. LINK
Here is a link from the above PDF, which is from the Army's homepage.
The number of minorities in the Army is upwards of 40%, according to the Army's own numbers, which is much different from the website you quoted. I'll try to find the rest of the demographic information in a second.

You are so honored that you deleted your post even! Could you be anymore transparent, Mr. son of a vet!

Not all military is conservative politically.
Of all of the military people who post most frequently on this board, the ones that we'd consider "Conservative Republicans" are out-numbered by the others on that list, who are either professed Libertarians or express no affiliation with any political faction but seem to side mostly with Democrats.
That's how I see it. I don't mean to step on any toes.
My personal belief is that people IN the US military should strive to be as apolitical as they possibly can.

The members of the military are US citizens. They have a right to political beliefs just as any other citizen. They just can't espouse it while working, which is how it should be, when off duty they should have the rights of every other citizen.

Of course they should stay informed and vote, but, the tradition is to be as apolitical as possible.
What if you were a Commander with ardent Democrat/Leftist/Atheist political beliefs. If you were to eschew being "apolitical" and make your political beliefs known to all, how do you suppose your devout Roman Catholic soldiers would react to that? It could present a Leadership problem for that Commander. That's why the tradition is to be apolitical.
OK, now to address the OP: Each individual's choice to join or not is a personal and individual choice. Do they feel the calling to join? That's a question that only each individual can answer.
For each, as they look within themselves to answer the question, they should also ask about their personal motives for wanting to join. Are you motivated by Selfless Service -- the desire to serve selflessly and without any desire for personal glory or self-aggrandizement? Or are you joining because you want to be a "Bad-arse Killer" to be feared by all men and desired by all women? If your motive is more to serve and benefit yourself, then I'd say your motive is misguided. Those whose motives are Selfless Service are much more likely to be the ideal military member.

It's not tradition it is the law. Posting your beliefs on an anounymous political board isn't making your political beliefs known to all. In the military, at least from my experience, you are more likely to hear righties talking about their beliefs than the lefties.
