Hard to believe that the air force doesn't have some pilot that can drive there and say "yep".

Landing Special Ops "cargo" planes on highways doesn't sound like typical Cold War practice.

And where's the logic to think this is sinister while still supporting a military of any size? I'd want the whole thing gone tomorrow if I had such a belief.

Until WW2 we never kept a large standing army.

Just like the founders wanted.

Power might be lost ? Maybe they don’t want people to tell what’s going on till it’s to late ?

I do wish we had more A-10s. It is one tech that might be really hard for the Chinese to take out.

I hope they’re not neglecting their racial sensitivity training to maintain combat readiness. This administration has made its priorities clear.

Michigan Militia might want to be visiting family out of state for a while.

Yes the interstate highway system was primarily for national defense and secondarily for commerce.

It was modeled after the German Autobahn which was set up for the same reasons.

China doesn’t have enough icbms or nuclear capable bombers or slbms to obliterate the US AF infrastructure like the Soviet Union.

I read that they are continually installing new ICBM missile silos. There is a reason. We got lucky with the Russians, but we might not with the ChiComs.

We have Rapid Runway Repair (RRR) kits to repair runways, along with heavy equipment.

1). Not rapid enough to get our airborne planes back on the ground

and

2). How repairable are nuked runways? Would anyone want to be in that radioactive hot zone?

Like some shite is a bout to go down and we don't know it...

Training part no, but I did know that interstates and highways were designed for such things incase of war and all air fields destroyed.

This isn't about China.

Milley said they were looking at things after "Jan 6th".

And look at the planes. A10's are ground attack planes used in forward areas of battle with a relatively short range. The small cargo plane is used by Special Ops.

Those planes are not going to be used against China if they nuke our air bases.

For those sayhing the interstates were designed for this; They were not designed and built to be runways, although they certainly can be used that.

And, this "test" is happening on M-32. Hint-That is a Michigan highway, not a federal highway let alone an interstate.

It is a two lane highway in far northeastern Michigan.

So, probably a good idea to keep practicing with the rise of China.

They aren't gonna do a land invasion.

ETA:

I see the potential for a cyber attack was brought. Yeah, we should probably be prepared for that.
