The US and China are currently in an arms race to see who gets control of AI, and the world. In the future, however, they will have to team up to fight off the AI monster they created that will control them both. I don’t think it matters who “wins” this race once Pandora leaves the box.
It’s exactly what many people have said before, do they not watch SciFi movies?

For any of this to happen, somebody would actually have to create AI first. These LLMs aren't AI. They're basically autocomplete on steroids. They can take what already exists and put it together in different ways, but they're not going to come up with something that doesn't already exist.
