For why would he attack a group of people who are already slated to join him in Hades?
that "group" of people dont mind going around attacking children and covering it up.
making a bunch of pagan holidays to placate natives.
selling idols to "save" souls.
its the universal church after all. we know what the bible says about this.
if satan is smart, hed want the largest "christian" denomination as a front.
only took 300 years after christ for people to decide they needed to organize it for power and wealth.

The lengthy report, released Tuesday afternoon, investigates clergy sexual abuse in six dioceses dating back to 1947. Pennsylvania's two other dioceses, Philadelphia and Altoona-Johnstown, were the subjects of earlier grand jury reports, which found similarly damaging information about clergy and bishops in those dioceses.
Definitely a scandal of the Church and every pedo priest and bishop who hid them should be punished.
I am curious though... How many charges of abuse was in the last 5yrs or 7yrs or even 15yrs?
This scandal was broke in the US 20yrs ago with current policies in place to remove priests even for the accusation. Timing of this is kind of weird. Did Pennsylvania sit on the investigation 20yrs??

A new grand jury report says that internal documents from six Catholic dioceses in Pennsylvania show that more than 300 "predator priests" have been credibly accused of sexually abusing more than 1,000 child victims.
But we can't have those damn gays being guidance counselors.

You'd never know it from this board. Half the words typed on here are pearl clutching and hand wringing about how much "worse" things have gotten.
The Church was infiltrated by hordes of gays who then forced homosexual relationships on a bunch of pubescent altar boys and young seminarians and then covered up their abuses. This all started in the 60s.
Those same gays are still in positions of power throughout the hierarchy.
So yeah, I would say things have gotten much worse.

Absolutely right. Or anywhere near teenage boys.

Nope. There's always plenty of bad. It's just that the past was worse than now.
You sure?
-Child abuse is generally accepted by many these days in the form of acceptance of mutilating children in the name of "gender identity."
-Many people march in the streets for a woman's "right" to mutilate her unborn child and throw him/her in the garbage.
The acceptance of the above-listed behaviors is far more widespread than the acceptance of anything that was covered up by certain bad actors within the Catholic Church, and you can absolutely belief history will look back far more harshly on these widespread views because of how widespread they are.

It goes on in quite a few religions. Catholics do not have the market cornered.
The difference here is the reporting. One thing about the Catholic faith is the tedious records kept which allow much of this to come to light even years later and can be substantiated.
Other religions who are isolated from each other and act independent from other churches of their own faith and denomination as well as not as on top of the records. Whose pastors and religious leaders can be shitcanned with the quickest and removed without issue whilest their actions are much more easily swept under the rug.
Here today gone tomorrow type of leadership.
It's definitely skews the proliferation of pedophilia in the religious orders towards Catholicism quite a bit.
None of which I condone btw. They should all burn in hell. I'm just posting as to a major reason while "all we see are Catholic leaders doing this".

As a practicing Catholic, when these stories come out I am almost as glad that they are exposed to the harsh light of day as I am saddened that they happened to begin with.
The Church really needs to clamp down on this far more quickly and harshly than they have in the past.

One of these damn high up clerics needs to come forward himself, before he is exposed, and loudly and without equivocation, expose himself and everyone else he knows of that engaged in this or covered it up.
And our Priests and Bishops who were not involved need to be more forceful.
And it’s a damn shame that it takes outside investigations to bring it to this point.

Yeah, the level of cover up is just mind-boggling. As another poster said, that's the part that separates this from other religions/institutions. I'm thankful it never happened to me during all the time I spent around the church as a youth.
I think in places like Ireland it was even worse - almost like an open secret and it was just expected to happen.

Some more details:
And these monsters are STILL being protected by the church hierarchy. This is no different than the "just a few bad cops" defense. They are ALL bad when the good cops refuse to out the bad cops.
Evil evil evil.
quote:
One priest arranged an abortion for the 17-year old girl he’d raped, and the “grief” described in an interview at the time was for the priest. Another groomed his altar boys before oral sex and another bought a boat with a friend for the purpose of molesting boys away from prying eyes. When a priest made his rounds visiting the sick in a hospital, he stopped to rape a 7-year-old who’d had her tonsils removed.
quote:
there was a priest, Augustine Giella, who spied on girls going to the bathroom. You can read all about him in the grand jury’s report. Giella was protected by the former bishop of Harrisburg, William Keeler, who was also aware of allegations that five girls in one family were molested by Giella after one of them bravely went to her parents. Keeler didn’t remove Giella but let him retire. Years later, arrested on other charges, the police found evidence of his sick life: girl’s panties, pubic hairs and vials of urine labeled with initials.
