quote:

“The real threat to human beings are microbes,” not global warming, Attorney General William Barr said Thursday, declaring tighter border security the first step in keeping deadly diseases like the coronavirus out of the U.S. Greater public appreciation of the role border control plays in securing public health may actually be one of the “good things that can flow” from the coronavirus experience, Barr said in an interview on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle”:

quote:

“I think, as horrible as this is and as tragic as it is, there are a couple of good things that can flow from this experience. And, one is to once again appreciate the importance of borders and controlling who is coming in to the country. “I’ve felt for a long time – as much as people talk about global warming – that the real threat to human beings are microbes and being able to control disease. And that starts with controlling your border. “So, I think people will be more attuned to more protective measures.”

Right on, right on, right on!

I don't think Barr understands how much cross border movement actually occurs regardless of immigration conditions. Every day (not during a COVID lockdown) hundreds of international flights take off and land. Each plane has a flight crew. Thousands of vessels dock and depart. Thousands of trucks and trains cross borders.

Frankly, a border restriction which would block microscopic pathogens would be impossible unless we go to full closed border like Albania in the late 20th Century.

If it saves just one life it is worth it.

Keep building the wall.

Not sure you understand that his suggestion was that it: “that starts with controlling your border.“

I just don’t understand leftists.

The first step in controlling our sovereignty is controlling our border. They always seem think the first step is the only step.

Thousands of trains do not cross the border every day.

Seal the borders and reduce the international ports of entry. Move the air travel screening overseas. 10 year hold on refugees.

Shut this bitch down!

We have the mechanisms to immediately halt those, ANYONE with a brain should know that we absolutely MUST have the mechanism in place to shutdown illegal/unaccounted crossings at our Southern border at a moments notice....damn, son....

That's not the point. What he is saying is that you have to have control. IF, IF, IF, there is a pandemic or other issue, you need to be able to shut down your border and control who comes in and out if needed.

People coming into this country need to come through official entry locations where they can be observed, and checked out if necessary.

You act like it is just cheaper to shut our economy down for the next Chinese Virus than it is to seal our borders and actually screen folks coming in properly AND have the ability to lock down when/if necessary...

Oh, and LMAO at you acting like you understand the situation better than Barr does... That is some funny arse shite right there...

A rational person can understand that the statement by Barr is true. Unfortunately, the dems are not rational and have no common sense.

Yes, when someone says "Liberalism is a mental disease", they aren't just whistling Dixie.

I'm sure the AG doesn't. Why don't we have "TBoy" educate him.
