Conservatives have no representation. There is nothing to fight for anymore. The big spenders have won.

We continue to get beaten down like a battered wife. Conservatives are now officially demoralized. They will stay home this fall.

Conservatives are energized by culture wars. That's the red meat. Fiscal conservatism is the vegetables they were forced to eat until Bush and Trump came along.

Pretty much all either "side" cares about today.

This happened a long time ago, the primaries. Had your chance to nominate an actual conservative, went w a womanizing democrat tv star. The last two years have simply been denial of what most have always known.

while true, "libertarians4trump" have been slapped in the face too many times by this administration.

it might be enough to tip the scales in certain directions

It's why I've always leaned towards the Dems as the lesser evil. As a Millenial, Reagan is some guy in a history book to me. My Republican experience has been Bush, Boehner, and Trump. Since neither side has ever given me what I want on economics, Dems will at least swing the culture war my way (and Reps in opposition usually rediscover enough fiscal conservatism to blunt their worst instincts).

Haha.

It really doesn’t matter who is in office. If it’s a D or an R, they both spend the same.

Yay, a D won.

Yay, an R won.

Zero difference.

I've been saying the two parties are head and arse of the same beast for 35 years.

Just don't vote for either one. Once third parties start getting more votes than the mainstream parties, they will change to incorporate more of the people. I really thought there was a chance when Perot was running. Helas.

This is very true. The only real difference are cultural issues. The government has become a monster that will not stop.

Dems win for sure now and the republicans deserve to lose too.

I voted for Cruz in the primaries. Not sure he was the answer.

I've always thought the best setup was a Democratic executive and a Republican legislative body. Republicans seem to turn into Democratic-Lite on fiscal issues when the executive is also Republican.

ETA: I reserve the right to change my mind if a deficit hawk (i.e. Paul/Amash) is at the top of the ticket.

Then when the Democrats say, "hold my beer" and make this bill look frugal, the stay at home crowd will have itself to blame.

EVENTUALLY, the American people are going to have to come to terms with the reality that the problem isn't in DC......it's in their bathroom mirrors.

I would like an apology for anyone who voted for him in the primaries. It is ridiculous Trump ever made it as far as he did. By May I felt like the producer from The Godfather who woke up with a horse head in his bed knowing those were our only two choices.

He's a right wing racist bigot or a flaming liberal who pulled the wool over our eyes dependent on the melt at hand.

Like Bill Burr said, it was like the first week on American Idol. These can’t be our only picks.
