That's the opposite reaction you'd expect from the tweet. Trump is fighting for lower rates to keep up with other cutting central banks. Unless Wall Street thinks Powell will stand firm while the rest of the world is in a race to debase sending the dollar to new strengths.

He's completely unhinged and he's opening up our monetary system to be controlled by politicians. Beautiful precedent considering the Democrat party platform. He doesn't need to be comparing Powell to Xi, a tyrannical communist that removes organs from conscious political opponents. He's going to give up the election is he keeps it up.

I don’t like this only because Powell doesn’t answer to the president and is supposed to be independent.
Therefore if Trump wants a certain policy he is less likely to get it if he pisses of the Chairman. Or worse Powell could raise rates out of spite

uh, there has never been SERIOUS CONSIDERATION, with those nutjobs. They kept rates at .25% for 7 years of Obama, and have raised it 7 times in under 2 years with Trump

So with weakening worldwide economy and no inflation, Powell says he isn't interested in additional cuts but somehow Trump is the cause of the Dow drop.

To be fair, additional cuts to interest rates could overheat the economy and lead to a recession. The reason the Fed is supposed to be independent is because it's goal is long-term economic expansion. If the Fed was beholden to the President than each election cycle the President could order interest rate cuts to over stimulate the economy for short term political gains.
