Abortion-Rights Activists Attempt to Burn Mexico City Cathedral

LINK
In footage of the demonstration posted on social media, protesters can be seen setting the fire outside cathedral as drums and music play in the background. About 1,200 activists joined the march for abortion rights, according to local media.
Catholics gathered in front of the cathedral doors to block the protesters, while firefighters and police worked to prevent further violence and the spread of the fire.
The archbishop of Mexico City on Saturday urged peace during the turmoil.
“I greet and recognize all the people who united today to pray, and to care for the churches in the center of Mexico City, as well as to assert the right to manifestation in freedom and in peace,” reads a translation of Archbishop Carlos Aguiar Retes’s statement, which he posted on Twitter. “The Church strongly rejects any form of violent confrontation. Let us defend dialogue, tolerance and love for one’s neighbor as tools to build the country for all.”
Well, with that kind of attitude from the Archbishop, maybe they should have burned it down so the Church could get a backbone. Morons on both sides!

What would you expect a religious leader to say? It wasn’t a trump rally where the participants were encouraged to beat up the protesters.

I think you're referring to the estrogen filled cucks in antifa that attempt (but always fail) to knock out Trump supporters.

There's evil shite going on in this world.

Sadly, the Church leadership were all young adults in the 60s so that is their world view. Fortunately, they are racing toward the grave only to be replaced by people who were young adults in the Reagan/Thatcher era. Kind of like the current democrat party.

Isn't what he said a major tenet in the christian faith? How can you possibly believe he is a moron because he adheres to his beliefs in a time of adversity?

Well, in fairness to him, haven't we learned that any attempt to defend yourself from anything is wrong? It's suddenly either you attacking them or obstruction of justice or something of that nature.

While true, your statement is overly simplistic and incomplete.
Read St. Augustine’s and St. Aquinas‘ writings on “just war”.
Murdering babies, sacrilege, and destruction of property is an evil that can and should be opposed. First you try peaceful dialogue. Check. But eventually....

Actually, I was referring to the time that trump said he would pay the legal bills for roughing up a vocal protester at one of his rallies.

People who have zero regard for human life are not likely to have any for brick and mortar.

If this is the same Cathedral... I have visited, it has a relic of Our Lady Of Guadalupe in the Cathedral. The apparition on 12 Dec. many years ago was of the Virgin Mary calling for the pagan religion back then to stop killing babies-abortion or something like this...
The entrance to the Cathedral walkways; always had homeless begging and I heard locally they weren't homeless, they are professional panhandlers scamming tourists.

I doubt seriously if he would pay the legal bills. One thing about trump: he is not your typical politician. The typical politician tells about half as many lies and untruths as trump does.

I've seen the cloak with my mother.
It's kept in a basilica. TheBasilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe If the building set on fire is a true cathedral then it's not the same.
