I think a lot of people are self-diagnosing

I think a lot of formal diagnosis is just a weird kid (I mean, is there an objective measure of diagnosis?)

I agree that many are seeking out the label since we have commoditized victimhood

Certainly the Harvard department of public health has sussed these variables out of their study. And doesn't the study simply suggest correlation (not causation)? Why the frick is everyone freaking out..?

Why don't we do the same with peanut allergies

Apples to Oranges

An allergy can be tested for and it is not communicable.

If you have a contagion and can spread it you not only endanger yourself (your choice) but others (not their choice).

As example:

Black Death killed 50+ million people

October 2017 (most modern recurrence) killed 170 before modern vaccine wiped it out before it could spread.

170 < 50,000,000

Like anything else, there is no "one driver". Its almost certainly a combination of factors like food contaminants, pharmaceuticals, diagnostic breakthroughs, aging parents... all of these factors have exploded in the age of autism.

Copied from FB.
Spot on, imho.

Mike Stone

"Instead of exposing the vaccine–autism connection, Trump and Kennedy Jr. have handed the public a convenient scapegoat in Tylenol—diverting attention while promoting a chemotherapy-linked pharmaceutical product as a “cure.” Big Pharma couldn’t have scripted it better.

Trump brags about rushing out the “Covid” vaccine, while Kennedy Jr. openly calls himself “fiercely pro-vaccine.” Neither one is anti-vaccine and both reinforce the pharma narrative."

My wife is an elementary school teacher and parents are chomping at the bit to get their kids diagnosed as ADHD, autistic, etc. Almost like it is a badge of honor for young parents...

Of course they are. That gets Johnny more attention in school, more time for tests, etc. And the school loves the $$ that accompanies the diagnosis, so they both win.

It's perverse.
