It's sick, and such people need to turn from their sin and run to Christ for forgiveness, which He will provide if they trust in Him by faith.
He only needs to say Jesus is Lord and believe the blood of Jesus saves him according to Paul.

quote:
You have replaced the triune God with a unitarian god, and not the God of the Bible. You are the idolater.
The first step to becoming a Christian is to break a commandment.
You have no understanding of the trinity, which is why you elevate Jesus as equal to God when Jesus will even tell you - the father is much greater than he is.
And the father is much greater than I am.

quote:
Jesus told the man to follow Him. He didn't want to do that because it meant giving up his god--his wealth. The man trusted in his riches and he wouldn't trust in Jesus, which is why Jesus turned him away. He violated the first commandment, like you are doing right now by not worshipping Jesus.
Jesus literally listed the physical commandments to the man and told him to go sell everything he owned to help the poor. Jesus demanded action and absolute obedience to God's law.
If that rich man walked into your church today, you wouldn't tell him to sell a single thing. You wouldn't demand he keep the commandments. You would tell him to keep his wealth, pray a sinner's prayer, and accept a "free gift."
You are a hypocrite. You claim to follow the man who turned the rich ruler away, yet your entire theology is designed to let that rich man in for free. You don't worship Jesus; you worship a loophole.

quote:Yes, because the Bible is meant to be read as one word of God. It all goes together. You can't pull from one spot and ignore the rest of it.
You claim it's in context when you skip across multiple books and quote a verse here and there.
quote:You are actually ignoring much of what you are quoting and calling attention to just the part you want to highlight. You don't explain the text, you just paste a block of verses and pretend that's enough.
And then claim it's cherry picking when someone quotes large portions with context.
quote:I did.
Go back and look at the very first verse I quote in the Mark response. That was on purpose.
quote:They thought they were being holy by doing all the externalities but missing the heart of the commands. They even added more laws for themselves and the people to make themselves appear to be holy but they did not love God. It's why Jesus summarized the 10 commandments with love of God and love of neighbor.
It then went on to demonstrate the pharisees replaced doing that first verse I quoted with other things instead. Which as I said, is what you do.
The Pharisees were all about mere obedience and mere externalities, and in doing so, they neglected the point of the law: love.
quote:The context doesn't help you, because you are the one who is concerned about mere obedience. You do not love God. You are like the Pharisee that prayed that he was thankful that he wasn't sinful like the tax collector, while the tax collector showed humility and devotion to God in his attitude. Jesus said the humble sinner, not the "obedient" Pharisee was justified.
I quoted it in large part because it was the context leading up to your quote, and it funny enough addressed the very thing you were ignoring and arguing against - and still do.
quote:Repentance is another commandment, because it is a turning from sin (disobedience to the law) and turning back to obedience. Repentance is the result of love for Christ.
He says if you love him you will keep the commandments.
He says if you believe in him, you will keep the commandments.
To keep obey and keep the commandments is to REPENT for them. Do you even understand what the word repent means beyond "Say Jesus is Lord and believe the blood of his death saves you"?
Again, you do not need Jesus, because you are focused only on the law. You cannot keep it perfectly, and therefore you will perish for your guilt before God. You need to be forgiven, and God does not forgive without payment for sin. Either you must suffer for your sins in hell, or you must trust in Jesus, who took God's wrath against sin. Your choice.
quote:
And the rest is just more bullshite with you changing the words and meaning of what Jesus said using Paul.

You mean God couldn't get it done in the same chapter so he needed multiple books from multiple authors to get across simple concepts?

You need to read more of Paul. You get him wrong all over the place.

The first step to becoming a Christian is to break a commandment.
You need to do this right now. You have rejected God because you have rejected Jesus.

Paul is a pharisee, that's why you quote him so much.
Do you also stone your neighbor and think the same if they don't plant their crops right?
Do you also stone your neighbor for wearing mixed fabrics? I bet you wear mixed fabrics yourself.
You're citing the laws of men and claiming it's the laws of God to burden and judge someone.
He has nothing to repent for unless he's done things like adultery or other spiritual laws.

quote:I explained this already. He already knew that the man was trying to justify himself by his works and that he was an idolater towards his riches. Jesus met him where he was in his hardness of heart and showed him that if he is to be saved by the law, he needed to keep it perfectly, starting with the first commandment. The man went away sad because he loved his riches more than he wanted to follow Jesus. He was an idolater.
Jesus literally listed the physical commandments to the man and told him to go sell everything he owned to help the poor. Jesus demanded action and absolute obedience to God's law.
Jesus immediately went on to say as much: he was trusting in his riches rather than in God.
quote:I would tell him to repent of his sins, including his idolatry, and believe in Jesus for forgiveness.
If that rich man walked into your church today, you wouldn't tell him to sell a single thing. You wouldn't demand he keep the commandments. You would tell him to keep his wealth, pray a sinner's prayer, and accept a "free gift."
Jesus demands obedience as a fruit of salvation, not to merit salvation.
You continue to maintain a false belief that the Bible teaches that you don't need to obey God. That's not true. Paul confirmed what Jesus said: you must obey. What both Jesus and Paul affirmed was that it is faith in Jesus as the propitiation of sins that actually turns aside God's wrath towards sin. You haven't figured that part out. You think God is OK with sin as long as you try harder next time. You worship a god that is not holy or just.
quote:Jesus didn't turn the man away. The man turned away from Jesus. That was the point. He didn't want to follow Jesus because he would have had to give up his true god.
You are a hypocrite. You claim to follow the man who turned the rich ruler away, yet your entire theology is designed to let that rich man in for free. You don't worship Jesus; you worship a loophole.
You would have to give up your false god to follow Jesus, and so you don't want to do that. You want to just glance at Jesus on your way to obedience, as if you can obey. You have not cast your eyes upon the God-man in trust as the rich man was commanded to do, but you look past Him and look at yourself and your own works.

If you followed Jesus, we wouldn't be at odds.
Christianity is the religion of Paul, not Jesus. It is the anti-Christ religion that teaches people they can sin and still make it to heaven by worshiping the blood sacrifice of the truth, the way and the light.
Because what Jesus actually says is to keep the commandments, over and over.
So you tell me what is of Satan, that which says you must keep the commandments as both God and Jesus have said, or someone that tells you it's ok to sin and break the commandments as long as you believe in a whipping boy?
And answer me this - how does a man who lies, murder and steals exist in a society that doesn't have those things? Their presence immediately makes that place no longer exist because they are those things. You must keep the commandments, you must actually do what Jesus said to do. This claim that death of good things results in salvation is a lie.

I quote him because his words are Scripture--they are God-breathed.
quote:I do not. That was a civil law, and I do not belong to the civil nation of Israel.
Do you also stone your neighbor and think the same if they don't plant their crops right?
quote:I do not. That was a ceremonial law, fulfilled in Christ.
Do you also stone your neighbor for wearing mixed fabrics? I bet you wear mixed fabrics yourself.
quote:You are the one laying burdens on people that no one can keep. Jesus said His burden is light. If all He meant was the Old Testament law, then His burden wasn't light at all
You're citing the laws of men and claiming it's the laws of God to burden and judge someone.
quote:You must repent for your idolatry, to start with.

"Progressive revelation" is just the convenient excuse you use to explain away the contradictions in your own book. It allows you to pretend God changed his mind, so you can ignore the laws you don't like while still weaponizing the ones you do. You aren't following progressive revelation; you are just rewriting God in your own image.

A contradiction is a discrepancy that cannot be rationally explained; it's speaking against itself, like 1+1=2, and 1+1=3. There is no way to reconcile that.
God didn't change His mind. He fulfilled the law in Jesus, like Jesus said. He didn't come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it. You think Jesus came to do neither, but that you can pretend Jesus never existed and be all good.

You just admitted exactly what I said you do. Saying you have to "read one verse in light of another" to make a discrepancy disappear is the literal definition of manipulating a text to suit your will. You are forcing the words to bend so your concrete doesn't crack.
And your "fulfilled" argument is the ultimate 1+1=3 contradiction. You claim the law isn't abolished, yet you don't keep it. You claim it is active, yet you wear mixed fabrics, eat what you want, and ignore the commandments because a blood sacrifice "fulfilled" it.
You are double-minded. You scream that the law stands just so you can use it to condemn a gay man, but then you scream the law is fulfilled the second someone points out that you are violating it yourself.
That isn't God's standard, it is your own hypocritical will.

Your attempt to pull people away from the Word has failed miserably. You should move with your satanic twisting of the Word
