A solitary individual carrying a long rifle and stalking outside of the area where a Presidential candidate was about to speak to a crowd of 50,000, would certainly be "surprising" to see and most definitely suspicious.
As an aside, it keeps replaying in my head over and over again, and I'm saying without hesitation that we were about one inch away from actually having a hot civil war happening as we speak. If they had killed Trump, I think that might have been the catalyst to burn it all to the ground.

The ladder was in the parking lot side alcove with the tree in front of it. Shooter’s body and gun were also on the parking lot side. That two story building gives reference point. This line makes more sense for the deceased spectator.
I’m also confused because the videos taken by the people who noticed the shooter and alerted authorities were from the opposite grassy side, in line with this tweet.

Easy. Someone planted the gun out of sight. When he e entered the grounds he didn't have it on him. I guarantee they had everything he needed at the sight before he arrived.
