If oxy never came around, the demand for heroin and fent wouldn’t have ballooned

Which is why i specifically said

I'll take the real opiates instead and try to work my way back

Right now we have to work back from fentanyl to get to where we were at with Oxy. We're in a worse position now.

It’s not a workable solution to go back to.

The question is if it's better than fentanyl, which it clearly is.

I mean just the contamination and accidental deaths with fentanyl make this an easy choice for me. Oxy wasn't being sprinkled on coke and weed back in the 2010s

The problem is that then they should be forced to ask questions of how the first Trump administration helped create the current fentanyl crisis with the same misguided WOD policies targeting supply.

What the issue is, to bring it back to OP, is the negative impacts on non-users. Fentanyl is so bad and the alternatives are MUCH better in this regard.

That's why we have to work our way back to real opiates to then start to address the problem. Fentanyl is such an issue outside of opiate drug users that it's untenable. Giving the addicts better options now will decrease demand for fentanyl, naturally removing it from the market (along with its negative externalities). THEN we can start the WOD supply v. demand debate again.

I'm sorry that you're not educated on how we got here.

Hopefully this thread was illuminating.

All you Trump-haters want to focus solely on the demand. You act as if killing the supply has zero impact, and that is dumb.
So, you're for liberal lunatic gun control. Because, as you clearly indicate, supply is impactful. Take away the guns, the number of killings will decrease significantly. according to you and all those posting similarly in these and other drug boat bombing threads here.

The real losers in the situation are extroverted weekend warriors who just want to do a few lines at the bar on a Friday night

Know of a young baw that lost his life because he did coke with fent in it on a bachelor party. He had his shite together, good job, hot girlfriend and now is a statistic because he wanted to party like people in their 20s have been doing since the 70s.

Want happened to just putting a little baby lax into it

Yep I expected the next line to be "Guns kill people!"

This is illustrating my point about why returning to Oxy is a better situation where we can get back to the supply/demand debate.

What you described is ONLY possible with a fentanyl-dominated supply.

We need to get back to where we were in the 90s but there is no putting the genie back in the bottle

Why would heroin smugglers opt to bring heroin in when they can bring a much smaller drug in those easier to smuggle.

No one is going accept putting Oxy back on the streets in the way it was around 2008 because it destroyed too many people.

I've argued for decades on here that supply-focused WOD policies are bad.

Not to put words in your mouth - are you for full legalization of drugs? What is your prescribed solution?

I don't think anyone will argue that there isn't also a demand side issue to be addressed - but what do you expect opening the supply side will do? What is your expected outcome to your desired solution?

Then they'll have to accept harsher, more dangerous synthetics.

These strikes and the focus on cocaine does nothing to damage the real drug problem.

Virtue signaling my arse...if your job was at the TDS store, and you knew the military was striking cars pulling into the parking lot, you mean to tell me that wouldn't make you pause and reconsider going in to work?

Hey, bud, got a job offer for you...do you know how to drive a boat?

When you're on the side of the drug traffickers, maybe it's time to reevaluate your position, TDS be damned. Because I could damn well admit that stopping drugs from physically entering this country is a noble goal - REGARDLESS of who is in the White House.

Falling for this ridiculous war on terra/war on drugs joint remix is sad, and quite frankly, MAGA should know better.

Emotional reactionaries.

They are the Republicans "white progressive woman" equivalent.
