Some wisdom from him that is true now more than ever, to paraphrase:
Our country has gotten to the point where we can't see a fat man standing next to a skinny one without thinking the fat man got that way by taking advantage of the skinny one.

outside of our prisons, can you let me know where we have a wall or barrier up that prevents people from leaving?
I'd love to join you in protesting, just let me know and I'll be on my way

Who can deny that Democrats are so smart?
Joe Biden is especially brilliant. His presidential campaign will be something special.
quote:
Nancy Pelosi on the economy: "every month that we do not have an economic recovery package 500 million Americans lose their jobs."
quote:
John Conyers on the Health Care Bill, which he voted for: "I love these members, they get up and say, ‘Read the bill ... What good is reading the bill if it's a thousand pages and you don't have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?'"
quote:
Joe Biden to Missouri State Senator Chuck Graham, who is wheelchair bound: "stand up ... Chuck, stand up, Chuck, let 'em see you!"
quote:
Joe Biden on the economy: "The number one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S."
quote:
Joe Biden on History: "When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened."
quote:
Henry Waxman on Environmentalism: "We're seeing the reality of a lot of the North Pole starting to evaporate, and we could get to a tipping point. Because if it evaporates to a certain point - they have lanes now where ships can go that couldn't ever sail through before. And if it gets to a point where it evaporates too much, there's a lot of tundra that's being held down by that ice cap."
quote:
California Senator Barbara Boxer: "Those who survived the San Francisco earthquake said, ‘Thank God, I'm still alive.' But, of course, those who died, their lives will never be the same again."
quote:
Jerry Brown, former governor of California, and current candidate for the same position: "The conventional viewpoint says we need a jobs program and we need to cut welfare. Just the opposite! We need more welfare and fewer jobs."
Joe Biden is especially brilliant. His presidential campaign will be something special.

1986 state of the union:
“America will never be whole as long as the right to life granted by our Creator is denied to the unborn.”
He acknowledged later in life that he made a mistake on that issue as ca governor

Reagan would later denounce abortion so strongly and so frequently from the Oval Office that Bill Clark has compiled a 45-page document of Reagan’s quotes on abortion, collected from the official Presidential Papers. Reagan even authored a small book — Abortion and the Conscience of the Nation, featuring contributions from Bill Clark, Malcolm Muggeridge, and Mother Teresa — that was published by the Human Life Foundation in 1984. White House moderates wanted Reagan to delay publication until after the 1984 election, fearing it would turn off pro-choice Republicans, but Reagan refused. He would not be burned again on abortion. No more compromises.
Ronald Reagan emerged from 1967 repentant, but ready for future battles. The damage was done; of course, the results were nothing compared to the travesty that a group of men in black robes in Washington were planning six years later.

First of it didn’t. Many, many, many people were able to “defect” through Berlin. There were much easier ways, though......ways not available to the people Trumps wall is meant to keep out.
Then there’s the little point of the Berlin Wall only being 99 miles long in total.....in a very developed urban setting.....not 2000 miles through what is largely a vast wilderness that even survival experts would find daunting.
Finally the real wall around Berlin consisted of gun turrets.....and the willingness of east Germany to slaughter people for doing what people do....migrate. I know many of you’d love to see US military people doing the same thing to illegal immigrants......and undoubtedly that would be the next logical step when trumps wall didn’t solve all the problems those of you who’d like to see people being hosed down East German style imagine in your flights of fancy.
That being said I say build the wall....it’d serve as a monument to what the GOP stands for for several generations.....bad ideas, fantasy and the demonization of anyone not white.....and the waste of tax payers dollars would cement Trumps laying the lie to the GOP being party of conservatives.

I love Reagan but his lawless amnesty doomed his home state forever, and eventually we will never win another nationwide federal election because of it.

Actions>words. So he was for abortion before he was against abortion... how john kerry of him. He opened up Pandora's box in our most populous state. What's worse is the language in the "therapeutic abortion bill" is almost verbatim what trump says he supports now. Been ~50 years, we've still gone nowhere. But again both men were dems into their 50s.
