(Forwarded from a friend.)

"You can't legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
The government can't give to anybody anything that the government doesn't first take from someone else. When half of the people get the idea that they don't have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because someone else is going to get what they work for, that is just about the end of any nation.
You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

In light of the truth of this quote, the fact that this ideology is being openly and aggressively promoted in our country seals the deal in my mind, we are being deliberately destroyed from within.

There is no other explanation.

That’s only if you consider the wealthy as having worked for what they have. According to our new socialist friends, the wealthy has only “earned” their wealth through inheritance and the rest are CEOs who steal their workers’ pay raises to fund their own bonuses.

And it's our fault if we don't stop it.

All true statements, but the left's least concern is multiplying wealth.

Their only goal is concentrating power and wealth.

I agree with the Rogers quote, but it is hardly “insight.” It is simply a more-eloquent repetition of a thought that is posted here essentially daily.

Whats worse, too, is that not a one of our socialist darlings has even pretended to float the idea of labor and capital trading places in the tax tables. As in, have labor taxed at 21% and capital at 35%.

If they were really serious about helping the middle class as they like to say you would hear that from them. But noooo

de Tocqueville had some of these insights even earlier.

quote:

The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.

quote:

Americans are so enamored of equality, they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom.

Actually, this quote gives a great deal of insight into the victim/entitlement mentality.
In your opinion, is the current socialist trend just "green" and simple idealism, or is it a symptom of something bigger; the destruction of a strong middle class?

I’ve got his book it’s incredible.

Helluva lot of truth in this. Socialism is nothing more than state owned slavery. In which case everyone other than a select few are the slaves.

No one. They will never have the votes for anything bearing any resemblance to actual socialism.

That’s the scary part. We’re at a time in our history when half the population hates people who work, earn, and make money

No such thing. You're suffering from a delusion caused by prolonged exposure to the Poli Board and its Ocasio Cortez obsession.
