I know that many people believe this, but it’s a misunderstanding of historical male/female relationships.

I dunno. My grandfather would tell my grandmother what to think. He would tell her to vote for. He would tell her where to go. And if she didn't listen.......well she listened.

My father was pretty much in complete control over everything in our family, outside of cooking. But any big decision he made alone. And I am not that old.

I do think it probably varied a lot by family. I know my other grandparents were not like this.

It probably varies a lot. One grandmother was definitely in charge of many things, and she certainly wasn't going to be told what to do. She did the telling! Although my grandfather would often just ignore it.

My wife has a theory.

Most feminists are the vindictive ex-girlfriends of some douchey teenage boys or the fat/ugly friend that could never get a guy to date and/or sleep with her because she has unrealistic standards for herself.

It's much easier to say you're a "proud feminist" rather than admitting defeat.

My wife doesn't think women should have the right to vote.

Well that's just silly. If you have skin in the game (pay taxes, own property, etc) you should have the right to vote.

Mine votes, and is considering getting her concealed carry permit. I agree that she should get it if she wants to. Even has a 380 picked out. She does ask me what to vote for as far as local elections go.
