there's no question the Dim Party and the D.C. Uniparty are the parties of the 1% and the credentialed class.
There are ~ 2000 Americans worth $500Million or more.
That is the "0.0005%"
Are those the folks you're addressing?

The "1%" is, by an exceedingly large percentage, first gen US wealth. Folks who earn their own way (aka, first gen wealth) are, in my experience, HIGHLY antipathic to socialism.

So your posit is dubious.

A google search shows the latest measure of being a 1%er in the US is approximately a net worth of $5.5 million.

The OP was citing a poll as reported on War Room that said Americans who are considered the 1% (net worth of at least $5.5 million) have a 70% approval of Congress, the MSM and college professors.

Google also shows there are 1.3 million households that would qualify as 1%'ers. The conclusion is obvious, if 70% of the 1% approve of the MSM, Congress and college professors they are as an income/net worth demographic, supporters of the D.C. Uniparty and the current corrupt system.

Below is the Google search results for the number of 1% households.

Who Are the One Percent in the United States by Income and Net Worth?
Net worth is the accurate measure of how much 'extra 'a household has accumulated. ...
Depending on your preference, there are roughly 1,313,064 households in the top one percent.

There are a number of 1%'ers on this board.
They rub elbows with other 1%'ers.
The claim that 70% of 1%'ers support Democrats is bullshite!

In America, the vast majority of 1%'ers are self-made.

I'd guess (conservatively) < 20% of self-made 1%'ers "support Democrats."

However, as the > $500M group accounts for a disproportionate amount of 1% wealth, and a majority or that group supports Dems, statistical skew or manipulation is possible.

E.g. You cited HH net wealth of $5.8M as a Top1% qualification. That is a median-based stat. Going by averages, a HH needs to be worth $38M to be in the Top 1%.

Without access to the poll in question, it can't be disassembled for you.

The numbers are probably accurate.

Despite the seemingly strong empirical support in previous studies for theories of majoritarian democracy, our analyses suggest that majorities of the American public actually have little influence over the policies our government adopts. Americans do enjoy many features central to democratic governance, such as regular elections, freedom of speech and association, and a widespread (if still contested) franchise. But we believe that if policymaking is dominated by powerful business organizations and a small number of affluent Americans, then America’s claims to being a democratic society are seriously threatened.

"Studies" on 1% voting patterns are few and far between. I wasn't going to quote something a decade old. Your 2014 study intimates American billionaires can influence elections. NSS!

I would venture to guess, a poll purporting to pinpoint "the 1%" is likely skewing toward the more conspicuous segment of that group, as I'm not sure how they are otherwise determining who is who in their methodology, which could tend to skew it away from the ACTUAL views of such a group.

Just a possible hypothesis. I have nothing to otherwise suggest or be able to say that they aren't just about right on the money with what they are saying here, though.

If I lived in a gated community and sent my kids to 50k a year private school I may be tempted to champion the cause of racism as well. I mean when every person of color you know is a surgeon you get a warped perspective.

They probably polled 10 tech billionaires on Silicon Valley and 7 agreed, which becomes “70% of wealthy Americans”.

Bottom end of the 1% is now defined as net worth of $5.8 million. That is not wealthy. It is "rich", though. By the same token, there are lots of rich people NOT in the 1%. I'd be curious to know what their poll would say.

Why do you think congress gets away with being so unpopular? It's because they're popular with the people who matter.

You're referencing the 0.01%, not the 1%. The 1% is to the entire population as the 0.01% is to the 1%.

Who pays doctors and nurses. Government.

Who pays universities, scientific studies, and professors. Government.

Who builds beautiful buildings, highways and other infrastructure that local contractors build. Government.

Everything is tied to government spending. The rich won't bite the hands that feed them.
