I was never on board with exporting US crude oil. We should be using up foreign oil while sitting on ours (or at least limiting to US consumption). I'd rather be the last nation with significant domestic reserves than one of the first to run out. I'm fine with US refineries being tooled to consume Canadian and Venezuelan crude, but ramping up crude exports seems like a long term mistake. Having abundant, cheap energy when rivals have scarce, expensive energy is a giant strategic advantage.

At 8 million barrels a day, that’s 25 years of oil just there.
Add another 200 billion everywhere else in the US. And we have enough today, with no more discoveries, to last us 75+ years.
This isn't including natural gas and coal as other fuel sources to charge future, more efficient batteries.

I can still remember watching an old style film projector presentation around 4rth grade (1974) that the worlds reserves of crude oil would be depleted by the year 2000.

So, they take our oil to keep our prices high. I'm still screaming daily about diesel prices. What a scam.
Not a scam, that’s the global market price. At least now the US gets $$$ instead of some royal family in the Middle East.

Trump isn't the one who put a bunch of mines in the straight of hormuz. If anyone is to blame it is Iran. Even China is starting to put their boot on Iran's neck because they are fricking with their money.

Yep, but for some reason we have to give the company a signed lease so they can take "our" oil, mother......!!
