I'm sincerely curious why republicans don't want Trump to run in 2024.

Part of it is while he has a large, very solid, very vocal, base he turns off a lot of people in the middle simply due to his persona.

If he toned down his personality a bit he'd be in the WH right now as the dems couldn't have manufactured enough votes to keep him out.

Downvote away, but it is the truth. There is little moddle ground with Trump. People either love him or hate him.

Gov DeSantis, OR whoever can beat him in a Primary is who we need to win the GOP nomination. However, I fear the Always Trumpers are more interested in Trump winning the GOP nomination regardless of the consequences... Kamala Harris being President for 4+ years.

I'd never downvote an honest answer.

My rebuttal would be this: if Trump didn't rub people the wrong way, if he didn't have the persona he does, he'd be just another party republican.

How many times has Trump been right when the consensus "Trump narrative" was 100$ wrong?

Did Bill Cassidy take 56 of the 100 votes?

No one like Biden. Biden is losing election polls to generic Republican A. We just need to wether the storm to midterms where to left is poised to be slaughtered making Biden and the whole White House useless

Exactly. Trump would crush Desantis in the primaries. But if trump runs, Ron will not.

I so badly want a RINO to run in the primary just to get crushed by trump so we can put this shite to rest.

Do you think after this shite show of Biden’s presidency runs its course in 4 years, people who were “turned off” by trump won’t hold their nose and vote for him?

Hell, even if they just sit out Trump wins.

I don't even have much bad to say about DeSantis at this time. I just think Trump is our man if he chooses to run as he has already shown he can win.

Agreed, I love Desantis.

He is the candidate in 2028.

Odds are, these 56% will still vote for Trump. What will the 46% do if he doesn't run.

I run into far too many people that 2016 or 2020 was the only election they ever voted in because of Trump. They are in the 46%. With the exception of DeSantis, who out there is going to excite them enough to vote again?

I don't want to see the orange used car salesman to flail about in the oval office, appointing insiders who only last six months. Man was the ultimate dog whistle. The perfect heel for the progressives.

Trump will run and any R that tries to run against him will be destroyed. Play it safe and get behind the Donald. No other R has any chance against Brandon no matter what you say.

I hope he runs but I think DeSantis and Cruz would also be solid candidates. Let the chips fall where they may and let's not eat our own.

First campaign ad I would run would be a supercut of Biden turning his back on reporters at every press conference.
