50 Senators are senior citizens

Being old doesn’t inherently make you bad, but most people don’t get elected to the senate at 65+. It’s empirical proof that we need term limits as these swampy people have been there too long. We have two senators who are 87, and five that are 80+. If I was 80, I’d be on the golf course, but that’s just me.

Term limits won't stop politicians from being crooks but it would at least deter the consolidation of power that career politicians have. People who spend decades and decades doing nothing in private industry but become multi-millionaires while selling out American interests.

The overwhelming majority of humans have no business in important legislative positions after the age of 75 or so. Even amongst those without dementia, some degree of cognitive decline is detectable and fairly abrupt around that age.
