Midland-Odessa, W Texas is off the charts and yeah it's because Trump has taken the bridle off the energy horse and is letting him run!
5 hottest.
(1) Austin Texas is on fire. Dell, Amazon, Whole Foods, Apple and UT and it is in Texas where the politics are business and job friendly.
(2) Orlando. Adding jobs and workers at the hottest rate in America. But same as always the salaries are low.
(3) San Jose.
(4) Salt Lake City.
(5) Boston.
3 of the 5 worst markets are in New York state. Home of the Socialist movement lead by AOC, with an extremist dem Gov and Mayor of the biggest city.
(1) Rochester, NY.
(2) Buffalo, NY.
(3) New York City. Think they couldn't have used Amazon?
(4) Detroit.
(5) Cleveland.

Compared to other hot markets, it's cheaper to live there. High or low salary is actually only fully measurable in relative terms.
I'd take a $20k cut to move from Chicago to my current location in Huntsville
Would still live MUCH better

You could pay me to live in west Texas. Hell working there was bad enough

Fast food workers around Midland/Odessa are making $18-21/hour. Absolute insanity out that way. It's a modern day gold rush.
As far as Austin goes, the liberal invasion will ruin that job market soon. They moved there to escape the tyranny of California politics but unfortunately they brought their beliefs in the system that created tyrannical California politics.

Austin is the perfect city for virtue signaling.
“Arghh, we hate capitalism. Screw the governor, screw Ted Cruz...”
Profits from the state government being ran by long term conservatism. Enjoy it now baws. Austin is a cancer that has spread to Houston and the borders. It will be a bumpy ride if y’all can’t stop the illegals.

pipelines are being approved faster thanks to TRUMP dumbass.

2 things of interest there. The mass move ins by the folks from Puerto Rico and the PR influx from NY has sucked up all or much of the cheap housing. Tons of the jobs were and still are in the hospitality and entertainment industry so the pay has traditionally been low.
