The rural areas will win any conflict. Not because of muh guns or anything like that. Critical infrastructure of all the major cites will be hit and after a few months the urban people will have taken care of themselves. All you really need is a small team in the 20 largest cities and you could bring the nation to a standstill by hitting the right targets. Most of them have little to no security. Or just blast holes in the major interstates leading in and out.
People dreaming of a dem vs rep war don't understand how this would (if it did) go down. Rebel groups would just do the above things and go back into the woods and twiddle their thumbs while we all killed each other in a desperate bid for survival.
Prosperity has made us weak. I would imagine 1/2 the people in major cities wouldn't even know how to cook their own food let alone what to do in a situation without power or water. The military would have to go into all cities hit and crackdown hard just to prevent wholesale genocides. If you live in a major population center the great irony is you would probably end up fighting side by side with democrats against government forces. The vast majority would just obey the military and slowly starve. The rest will die.
These things don't end well. It won't be some cinematic victory. If you root for this, no matter which side you are on, you are a fricking idiot.

This is what I try to tell leftists when they talk about Bubba and his deer rifle trying to take on the military. All you have to do is create chaos in the cities. The government would have to spend 90% of its resources trying to maintain control.
Are they going to guard every high voltage power line? Stop snipers from killing truck drivers? Stop trains from being derailed?
Do they know how much fertilizer that is stored out in Jesus land? Imagine the destruction a couple of hundred McVeigh types could cause to interstate bridges.

Not sure why some counties are listed as "red" in that USA map?
My county has pretty much all Democratic local politicians and US representatives and voted heavily for Biden but it is colored in RED on the map indicating a GOP county.
I see a certain part of New Jersey and Ohio is similarly mistlabeled.
