Oh, you mean an appeal to emotion?
I agree. People who have had their lives ruined by con men who stole their money should really shut up. They are just looking for emotional pity. The hardships they experience is irrelevant and shouldn't be used to besmirch the integrity of the con men. Con men are people too.

The claim was 63000 between 9/1/01 through May of 2006. If you spread that same rate over the ensuing 12 years it would now stand at about 189,000. King said this in 2006. Trump is way behind......it have much more impact to state the new number of 189k. If you are going to simply lie, lie big.
The 63000 number was based on data from 1951 - 2006. But that isn’t the actual number. King was basing that on the fact that 25,000 illegal immigrants had been arrested...not convicted....for murder. The problem is he thought the data was from September of 2001 through May of 2006.... he actually said this on the “day without an immigrant” protest. That number, 25000, was spread out over a period of 56 years, not 4-1/2.
The fact is that illegal immigrants commit about 5% of murders in the US every year. Legal immigrants commit about 4.5% and native born American account for about 90%.
1 is 1 too many. You don’t need 63000 to be outraged. All it takes for me is 1. Claiming it is 63000 makes you look a fool. You don’t need 63000...1 is plenty to be outraged....

You would really be outraged if it was only 1? Just stop. That’s lunacy.
If that is the truth you have no room to call anyone a fool.

Sure I would......I wouldn’t take to streets and act a fool but I’m outraged anyone is murdered. Are you not?
Maybe you have a point. Outraged isn’t the right word but I’d be interesting in seeing that justice, such that it is, was done. I hate to see anyone lose their life for any reason.
I know we are all so hardened off to murder that we seldom acknowledge when it happens. Only when it is outrageous enough to be headline worthy do we even know it’s happened. You make a valid point. Ain’t that a little sad? I mean you can’t go through life letting reality cripple you to the point you can’t function.

I want to get back to my beef with you.
My beef with you is not about numbers.
Then you aren’t having the conversation this thread is having.

My beef with you is that you post from Mount Pious regarding the statistical basis of crime figures as presented today in the Trump event while making no distinction between that and the emotional appeal being shoved down our throats by the left which has dominated the news for 2 weeks and was never based on reality. Made up.
What in the ever-loving frick are you talking about?! So let me get this straight. I had the audacity to ask for a source to the 63,000...the nerve to not blindly follow a number with no sourcing at all, and that puts me speaking from some point of piety? You know how I said you have no substance? This is EXACTLY what I am talking about.
If that emotional appeal was not based in reality, why did Trump change the policy with an executive order? Why did he stop separating families? It was not made up, even if it was the policy before Trump came into office. I have not defended the media in this thread, but as typical with you, you never let facts get in the way of your bullshite.

But they are here. I don’t live in a fantasy world like you guys are trying to create in this thread.

Suggesting that there should be no outrage because the crime rates of illegal criminal aliens is the same is absurd beyond belief.
The crime rate of illegal criminal aliens should approach zero because the shouldn’t be here to begin with.
It has nothing to do with rate. It’s the number of crimes that could be reduced drastically.
Do you think the Angel Parents care about the rate of crime committed by illegal criminal aliens being the same as citizens?

Nah, dude, no one said there shouldn’t be any outrage. We said the likely fabricated number and associated outrage is not equivocal to other deaths by other sources. It’s a hot button issue that some of you are disproportionally outraged over.

You WANT crime rates to be zero, you WANT illegals to not be here. You probably WANT a billion dollars as well. See what they all have in common?

That’s nonsense and not even close to what I said.
Let me try this....if we secured our border, enforced the laws that are currently on the books, and deported criminal illegal aliens....
The crime perpetrated by criminal illegal aliens would drop drastically because they wouldn’t be here.
That’s all I’m trying to say.
And the crime rate of illegals compared to citizens is absurd and meaningless.
And I don’t care if the number is 63,000 or 6,300.

If I applied this same standard to the gun debate we wouldn’t have the emotions that we do when another shooting happens in this country. You see what I’m saying? The media gets wound up about internment camps on the border for kids, the right gets wound up about illegals and guns being taken away...it’s the exact same emotional reaction over different issues, but each side is convinced the other is the emotional wreck.
