So what percent of those deaths is related to the drug trade? How many fewer deaths would there be if there was no organized crime because there was no black market to support it?

Hence the discussion of supporting social rights versus natural rights.

Correct. But a law against guns will totally restore their rationality. It's amazing.

I always feel sad when people make this argument, because it makes it clear they can't read.

Your asking a question that is impossible to answer.

Correct. At the end of the day, for the vast majority of violent offenders, law and requisite consequences are meaningless.

Look no further than gun free zones. Does anyone honestly believe that the aluminum sign with the picture of the gun stricken through has ever stopped someone from committing a gun crime in the zone?

Not really. Organized crime exists because they have a market niche. There is a product that they market to the public where the law has eliminated all their legal competition. Without a product to lush, they simply cannot compete. Once such products are able to be bought and sold legally, dispute resolution becomes easier to carry out via the court system than via cartel-style violence.

Weed isn’t the only prohibited product, just the most popular.
There’s also cocaine, illegal firearms, heroin, meth, crack, pcp, etc. the list of products is endless.

Quit asking generic questions but they get guns from all sorts of places:

Stealing them
Straw purchase
Illegal sales
Etc.

So...from all kinds of ways that are not legal?

ETA: Hell your first response was "stealing them" which is exactly what the OP in our part of this discussion said

Get back on subject. This thread is getting off topic. You want to pass laws and regulations to stop an problem where laws already exist to punish people. Your thinking that fear of some reciprocity is going to have some enlightened effect on a person with sociopathic behavior. They don’t care at all.

We should make this stuff illegal. That would stop them!

This is complete bullshite. One of the most dominant behaviors in humans is our extreme tendency for self-preservation, and that includes sociopaths. You don't know what you're talking about.
