One friend posted a pic of Nancy Pelosi and he said how the hell is this bitch still in office. We say similar things on here. Well that proved he was masochistic, according to the ones offended. Then he said now that the racist mississippi flag is gone we could get rid of the racist ms black caucus. He probably should not have posted that on Facebook.
The other man, private company, said in response to a coworkers black lives matters statement that all lives matter.
So what did their bosses give them as their official reasons for termination? Did they violate a company social media policy? Had they been written up for anything prior to termination? I get companies being allowed to fire anyone at any time, but there has to be some legit way to get back at companies who do this without some groundwork.
The best practice is, is to stay off of fricking facebook and twitter. If you are going to stay on them, follow these rules:
1) don't friend anyone from work.
2) make your account completely private, so not a single outside person can see your posts.
3) don't list anything on your accounts that link to your employer. That is common sense. But people do this without thinking.
4) Don't friend anyone from work.
5) Don't comment on stuff your coworkers post or comment on.
6) Don't have a facebook or Twitter account if you have the twitter fingers of a mentally retarded lap dog. Because you are going to get yourself fired.

How long are we going to keep saying this before we realize it's never going to happen?
This is the equivalent of a fatherless child saying, is Daddy coming home today? The child is 17.

How can this happen when we have freedom of speech??
Because we also have freedom of association.

The right accepts the fundamental premises of the left as far as I can tell, which is why they are always backpedaling.

"Employment at will" is one of the Republicans' fundamental platform policies.
Vote wisely indeed.

Not really, if a company singles a person (or in this case two out) for firing not based on substantive reasons a good employment law attorney can get it won
Lol, good luck with that in a right to work state. And from what the OP infers, that's where they most likely are
In a RTW state they can let you go for any reason they like, just about, and you have nothing you can do about it.. The best thing you can hope for is the make it a RIF, so you'll be able to draw whatever the measly unemployment benefits are in the 'Delta'.

unjustly brutalize black people
Non starter since this isn't happening nearly as often as people pretend it is.

With all the shite that has been brewing over the years, and going on now. I'd like to know when enough is going to be enough. It's obvious that the tale is wagging the dog in this country, and it's a nub tail. Not the full tail.
I hope this doesn't happen, but it might. I am predicting some white a-hole is going to get cancelled, he is going to go postal and pull some huge mass shooting or some kind of Timothy McVeigh thing... Again I hope this doesn't happen, but someone is going to pull something. Then its going to play right into the whole narrative.

That’s not what Black Lives Matter is about.

So a company could fire a person for participating in a Black Lives Matter protest?

It’s unbelievable to me how quickly and how many people are willing to disregard private property rights when confronted with consequences that have been exacerbated by that very principle. We need to be undoing this subordination of private property rights so we can disassociate completely from these people.

Indeed. This case appears to be way past the point of justified firing and deep into the weeds of civil rights and free speech issues.

Me hats the alternative? Consequence free speech? How far can that go?
I have To keep my employee on after he shows up in an SS uniform so long as it fits the dress code?

If it’s an “at-will” State it’s a perfectly legal firing. That’s why it’s best to just keep your opinions to yourself, especially controversial ones.
Freedom of speech doesn’t apply to the work place and if you attacked Kapernick for kneeling and supported him being blackballed then you are being a hypocrite.
