I was in dollar general a few weeks ago and there was an older woman checking out and she was paying with change and there was a guy behind her and he was pissed she was taking too long. He grabs up his case of Dr Pepper and goes to the next register, he is just huffing and puffing while the girl rings him up. When she asks how he is going to pay he says EBT.

This is one of the reasons our country is so fricked up right now. He was a healthy middle age white man and he was pissed because he had to wait for grandma to pay with her own money before he could use tax payer benefits to pay for his damn case of soda.

The biggest advocates for food stamps are not poor and starving people. The biggest advocates are Big Ag and food manufacturers and their lobbyists.

would be interested to see if they're all Americans. One could argue that his tougher boarder stance is paying off.

Back at a Safeway in Monroe in the late 70s I got behind a white nurse that had a buggy more than full of food, the good meats, high value product, etc. Probably out of thirty items she had three to actually pay for. No big deal I think. She gets ready to pay and forgets the 50 lb. bag of dog food and puts it on the counter. It was cash also. This nurse opens up her wallet and I quit "helping her" count her money after six $50 bills plus other greenery she was thumbing through. I became so pissed.

And here I'm standing behind her with hamburger meat, Hamburger Helper and sandwich meat. You know, what I could afford at that time.

I always love these threads full of nosey Nancy types that stand in line in grocery stores and stare into others wallets, purses, and what type of card they are swiping.... then they make note of what make and model of everyone’s vehicles in the parking lot.

Nah, I don't go that far. The proof is already in the pudding once they open that pocketbook. No sense in expending energy after that.

Correct. Recession pushed many on the roles, peaking it in 2011.

As the economy has steadily improved and unemployment gone down, SNAP recipients/qualifiers have also gone down

Lol they're downvoting me and don't realize I was referring to obama being in office during the all time high. It doesn't get much more clueless than this bunch.

Obama was the “food stamp president.” That is a legacy Trump can’t rescind.

Oh, then elaborate. Was I wrong or do we have snowflakes around?

Thought so

You left out the part that the decline is atributed to obama policies. Is that how you "win"?
