I still recall Nancy Pelosi putting forth the argument that food stamps spur the economy.

Fake news. I don’t see people dying in the streets from starvation.

You know what this means right? It means some govt office needs a multi million dollar increase in their budget to ensure they meet an arbitrary quota that says x number of Americans need to be signed up a year for food stamps. You see, you see a decrease in the number of Americans on food stamps as a good thing, but to those that run these agencies, losing 1.5 million is horrible. That would mean their budget gets cut, and everyone knows govt agencies don’t want that to happen

This reminds me of something I saw the other day. Got breakfast at Chick fil A. Guy in the drive through line in front of me stuck out his EBT card at the window in his newish Ford Explorer. They refused to take it and then he handed them a $100 bill

Had a conversation with a co-worker this morning. Her b/f is a food stamp fraud investigator. A couple of things she said were pretty interesting. For one, investigators can no longer use the fact that someone drives a nice car as evidence of fraud. They CAN question how the car, insurance, etc. is being paid for.
Second, he told her there are people in other states using La Purchase cards who are supposedly living in Louisiana. She said he went to Jackson to take pictures of the accused and they house where they live.
