Snap a long losing streak to stake a strong claim to #1 and the inside path to both a Heisman and a Natty.

A week later you re-elect a turdhead Democratic governor hell-bent on turning you into the South’s version of Detroit. Mississippi has a realistic shot at no longer being the “Thank God for...” state.

What the frick are you people doing down there? How do you have so many dumbasses in one state?

I'm here and I totally agree. This is becoming a shithole state. BR is a shithole and elects complete fricking morons annually, N.O. is a bigger shithole, and elect even dumber morons (last one was still pending charges on credit card fraud, when elected)

It's a joke...and trial lawyers rejoice...let that sink in

There are lots of “conservative” hardcore Catholics here who swear that just because JBE is anti abortion they must therefore overlook the ACTUAL conservative candidates who are also against abortion and vote for JBE because he’s anti abortion.

It’s just as stupid as it sounds when I type it out.

1. The election hasn't happened yet.
2. JBE is an incumbent and Louisiana's Constitution gives the governor a shite ton of unilateral power. That makes incumbents VERY powerful for ensuring loyalty at the local level and preventing defections by connected people.
3. Louisiana is the reddest state in the United States and always has been. And by red, I mean Communist. We were the first state to adopt widespread communist policies for all. As a result, the New Deal was based heavily on what Huey Long was doing here. Huey's influence has only grown stronger over time through governor's like Edwin Edwards.
4. There have only been 2 multi-term republican governors since...ever?
5. We have the largest percentage of population not in the labor force compared to every other state. Our state government also employs the largest percentage of the population compared with any other state. Thus, the governor for the party of growing state government and expanding entitlements basically has nearly 50% of the vote already baked in.
6. MASSIVE institutional voter fraud through the taxpayer-funded Counsel on Aging which basically prefills ballots and forges signatures for absentee ballots of retirees, vegetables in nursing homes, and the recently deceased.

I see people threaten to leave all the time, but I'm honestly thinking of moving if JBE wins. This is such a a transformative election and people want to reelect the guy who has done absolutely nothing to help the economy and keep people in the state. I think the long term effects are going to be the final nail in the coffin.

You may or may not have a good point in your post. I only read it once, and it kinda hurt, so I didn't try again.

Then I looked at your profile panel. "TDS & Gumbo" is not a good juxtaposition. Your bayou buddies should shame and purge you.

Maybe if you put a picture of gumbo in your avi, that would help.

A lot of people do leave. I have an entire clique from my high school of close friends that moved to the Denver area over the last few years. My other clique that I was close with are all moving to Houston next summer.

This is all of my wifes friends. Theyre so uninformed and single issue voters. My wife says her friends are stupid too fwiw.

mid-20s fwiw and it makes me wonder if the Dems ever adopted an anti-abortion stance how many more they'd add to their faith. A ton of Catholics for sure

Firstly, Jobs are scarce. The jobs that are available aren’t high paying.

Secondly, Generational welfare is alive and rampant in Louisiana. These people make more $ doing nothing, and this mindset is being passed down.

Lastly, Old Louisiana money is leaving the state (has been for years) therefore the scale is now very unbalanced. People know handouts will continue under Liberal control and are perfectly fine with it. It’s normal and sad!

JBE's "pro life and pro gun - moderate/conservative" is about as dependable as a meth-head guarding the crown jewels. Obviously, he would never get elected if he didn't espouse those opinions, but if democrats regained power, he'd fall right in line with whatever gun ban or abortion allowance the feds tried to implement.

Especially if it's his second term and he doesn't have to care about re-election.

And the next democrat will be just like him. They have a formula for success. Democrat + military + right wing on meaningless wedge issues = Governor of Louisiana.

And the republicans will keep cutting off their own balls by shredding each other in the primaries with their right wing purity tests, which will then render the survivor un-electable. Eddie is the shitty candidate we got from this process, and given the unwavering proclivities of a huge chunk of LA republican voters, this will not change soon.

Conservative and Catholic here and edwards can go himself.

Voted Abraham the first round and I've already voted for Mr. Rispone in the runoff. edwards is a lying, crooked, POS trial attorney!

As a side note, I do not care one bit for the current Pope either!

We are taking a major step in leaving tomorrow by putting our house up for sale. Once the rental is sold we will be heading somewhere in the mountain west. Im hoping for a ski town as I am pharmacist so I can move anywhere.

All very good points and spot on. We also have parts of the state that are very different from each other. Think Southwest = Cajun, New Orleans, (proper) = Creole, Northshore, (Florida Parishes) = Superior "Mutts"; like myself and everything north of I-10 = Similar to College Station/Bryan, TX.

Bruh, focus on keeping Tejas red. If it flips the republic is doomed.

Your username is "TDS N GUMBO". Why do you conflate gumbo and Trump Derangement Syndrome?

As for your avi, I was just making the point you should have a picture with gumbo in it.

What about Tennessee? Deep red, no income tax, beautiful landscape?

BTW, I have a special love for pharmacists as my dad was a pharmacist.
