Mercury 150 XR6 issues

I have a new to me 2002 mercury XR6 150 on a Procraft 180 combo. I got it at the beginning of the summer and it seemed to run fine. This past weekend was the first time I had more than 2 people on the boat. When I went to take off, it took a while to plane out, and the engine was making a womp noise over and over. It clearly was not operating at full power. Once on plane and above about 3300 RPM it had full power and sounded smooth.
I went out today and tried a new prop with less pitch to see if that helped, and it did not. With just me in the boat it isn't that noticeable because it gets on plane and above 3300 RPM much faster. I took my grandpa for a ride and he notice that when it is making the noise and struggling, the motor is shaking from front to back. Once on plane the shake is gone. I took some videos of it and posted them to youtube. It is kinda hard to see and hear what it is doing, but if you watch them you might get the idea.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, my wife never wanted the boat in the first place, so now that it isnt working right I'm really in the dog house... haha
edit: fixed the links to youtube a couple of posts down

Bad power packs will cause some really weird things to happen.
Could also be some nasty carbs or something

The carbs were just cleaned in may. The biggest problem is I have it stored at my lakehouse about 2 hours away so it isnt easy to work on. Next time I'm up I'm going to pull the plugs and see what they look like. If I'm missing on a cylinder or a whole bank would that smooth out the vibration once I get on plane and topped out?

Yamaha never have issues
Like the time I was 75 miles offshore on a charter out of grand isle and one of the 300s dropped a lower unit.
It's a 12 year old motor. It probably needs some maintenance anyway.

Well beyond being a mercury, anyone have any useful ideas?

I should also mention that it idles great, and gets up to max rpm at wot. Runs awesome once on plane and above 3300 rpm.

Coil. Just had the same issue with my 200HP Mercury

Did the motor shake pretty bad forward and back under about 3300 rpm? Did you watch the video of mine?

Has it been sitting up since then?
I'm still guessing a power pack. They make weird stuff happen. I have no clue how to test them other than replace and see if it fixes the problem.

Good one!
I just know that the 2 Mercury engines I've had started giving me problems after about 4 years. I've got a 89 model Yamaha, guess what? Narry a problem.........ever. Now I have a brand new Yamaha. I can only hope it's as good as the other one
Granted I've never dealt with large engines like that. Largest one I've had was a 60hp and it was a POS. Dad has a 60hp Merc on his boat at present. POS

I have a 25 merc that's about 12 years old and the only problem it's ever had was water in the gas.
I can almost guarantee it has more hours on it than any other 12 year old motor around here. That little rig gets the hell ran out of it.

No it has been run pretty steady since then. I've gone through at least 5 tanks of gas since then, non ethanol with seafoam

Good n bad in anything you buy I reckon. Was just ribbing the feller a bit with my first comment, didn't mean nothing by it.
