Israeli Defense Minister: Israel Can't Count On The U.S. To Attack Iran

I hope AIPAC also becomes this disillusioned with Obama, and gives up on trying to get him to attack Iran. I disagree with Obama letting his mouth write checks that his arse can't cover, but perhaps the one positive from this is that other countries will quit trying to recruit us to do their dirty work.

"We thought that the one who needs to lead the campaign against Iran is the U.S.," Yaalon was quoted by the daily Haaretz as saying during a lecture at Tel Aviv University on Monday.
Instead, Yaalon said, the U.S. began negotiations with Iran and Iran gained the upper hand in the talks.
"If we wished others would do the work for us, it wouldn't be done soon, and therefore in this matter, we have to behave as if we can only rely on ourselves," Yaalon said.
Yaalon's office confirmed his remarks but refused to comment whether he was advocating an Israeli strike on Iran. Netanyahu's office also declined to comment.
Yaalon criticized the West, saying its leaders prefer to avoid confrontation with Iran. As for the U.S., the defense minister alleged American influence is waning in other parts of the world, such as Ukraine over the crisis there.
"Weakness certainly does not pay in the world," he said. "No one can replace the U.S. as the world's policeman. I hope the U.S. will come to its senses."

Is this the thread where we pretend you are in fact a patriotic American that believes that America should avoid foreign entanglements whenever possible and not that you are a complete hack for Hezbollah and apologist for Islamist excess and terror that could care less about the security of either our own country or that of our allies ?
I'll play along.

Sounds like a plan to me Yaalon.. You get $3 billion plus a year from the USA , no questions asked, now you want our young men blood as well, huh. Pass.

How much less can we care? Is it a LOT? Or is it a little?

Lsupimp, how much American blood and treasure are you willing to spend to protect Israel's regional hegemony?

Screw Israel. The only thing we can count on is them using us and attacking us.

Israel needs to do whatever they want to do about Iran as long as it's not at the expense of American dollars and lives. If they can't do that then they need to deal with it. I don't perceive Iran as a threat to the U.S., whether they have nuclear weapons or not.

"Israel's regional hegemony"
I find that a pretty odd way to put it considering that Israel is surrounded on basically all sides by predominantly Islamic states. Are you referring to the West Bank and Gaza? If Israel qualifies, then being a "regional hegemon" ain't so cool.
