Didn't have time to upload during the paddle like I sometimes do. Only saw 4 small gators. Largest was maybe 4 feet

Water looked better than it had In the past. Some type of fish that likes to jump out the water all the time seems to have moved in. They would jump out of the water 4-5 times back to back. They were all over the place.

A few pics....

Rusting away

The st Francisville and Ibberville ferries that are no longer running

Where it hits intracoastal

The old locks(sp?)

These two houses are almost across from each other on the bayou

A relaxing beer paddle is coming, but I had to bust arse to get all 20 miles in and get to work. One more (longer) training paddle, then my Missouri race and THEN a beer paddle!

Yeah, I do a lot of the races. Several posters have done the 134 mile Tour du Teche race.

The Missouri race is in two weeks and is 340 miles from Kansas City to St. Louis and you have 88 hours to get there.

Edit: yes, from the pics-they were mullet.

What kind of camera? Mounted? I've had trouble keeping a gopro attached to my yak. The attachments suck.

That is cool. My great grandfather was the first riverboat pilot to pilot a boat through those locks. His name was Charles Phlilo Marrioneaux

These pictures were taken with an iPhone inside a clear dry bag/pouch. I was interested to see how they would come out since I'm trying to minimize having to stop and pull the phone out of its waterproof bag.

During races I use an Olympus Stylus tough 8010 (waterproof) camera that is attached to the kayak with one of the duck call retractable lanyards. That way if I need to drop it quickly, it retracts back to the top of the kayak deck automatically.

I will be using the same set up for my Mt. rainier attempt/climb in 6 weeks because the camera is also drop proof and freeze proof .

Have a gopro, it sticks well on this boat due to smooth surface. It doesn't hold well on my other polymer/plastic boat.

Good luck, try to look out of shape or they will stick you with carrying the rope if someone bails early.

My home town! I spent thousands of hours fishing and farting around in Bayou Plaquemine.

Many a snake lost its life when I was running around down there.
