The defense is horrific at G Tech. Good firing.

Firing him midseason accomplishes nothing except deflect criticism from Johnson.

That's my fear. I want that Mofo gone because we got a 4-5 year rebuilding process ahead of us so I'd rather start sooner than later.

Mission accomplished for CPJ then. He's one arrogant prick too.

Paul Johnson is a great coach but just like Rich Rod he needs someone to run his defense.

I disagree. He's stubborn as shite and has a history of calling some of the worst 2-minute drills over his entire career. If you are down by 14 or more in the 4th you can head for the parking lot.

We need a pass happy air raid offense.

Go get Frank Wilson.

the offense isn't the problem. The qb is terrible; we need a playmaker back there. Glad to see Groh gone but I don't know what it will accomplish. We just can't get the athletes on our D-line to be successful. If we can get a playmaker at qb which we have two on the roster and a somewhat decent defense, Tech will be tough to stop.

Coming in here to say something similar.

GT will be a perennial 8-4/7-5 team with Paul Johnson. The big athletes (even the defensive players) do not want to go there and play 1940s offensive football.

This was the right time to do it since we are on a bye. Our 3-4 defense was like putting a square peg in a round hole.

No serious GT fan would say that Paul Johnson needs to go, even after the MTSU and Miami collapses. He won an ACC title and beat UGA; I know that doesn't sound like much to the MSB, but Chan Gailey failed to do both in six years and we have little hope of doing better with someone else.

Our offense is averaging 37.8 ppg and is top 5 in Rush YPG, Rush TD, and YPC. That side of the ball hasn't been the problem. Also, remember the name Vad Lee. He will be huge for us next year at QB.
