Yeah, I think most of the HTH album was written by BJS.
Supposedly BJS followed Waylon around for a while trying to get him to listen to his songs and he wouldn't. BJS finally got fed up and grabbed Waylon and threw him up against a wall and told him "you're going to listen to these damn songs." He listened and the rest is history.

Grew up in Houston off the Wayside Drive. Son of a carhop at some all night dive.

You ruined this thread by linking all his great songs. Now linking Rainy Day Women is pointless...just kidding.
I saw Waylon perform at grand ole opry when I was 12. Sadly I wasn't a big Waylon fan at the time, and I didn't appreciate what I was seeing...I wish I could go back in time.
Does anyone else put Omaha back into rotation this time of year when the tigers are getting ready for CWS?

Anytime I hear someone talking about Omaha and the CWS, I start singing "Omaha you've been weighing heavy on my mind..." in my head

I'm looking out for the casual country fans that don't know much about Waylon but are looking to add a playlist to their collection.
Feel free to add some of your own.

I think of him every time I think of the Dukes of Hazzard!
He has some great stuff it was neat seeing him tour with Metallica in the late 90's.
