Bookie report: Is Billy Walters responsible for BCS line move?

Stories out of Birmingham speculate the move was driven by none other than Billy Walters himself, pile driving the line from LSU -1.5 to Alabama to -2. One of my primary responsibilities as a bookmaker is to recognize customers whose opinions are worth valuing however for this game I’d be lying if I said the betting pattern hasn’t been unusual.

Yes.
Come out of the coop, brah. That has been known for at least 48 hours now.

They act like this line moved overnight. It was a 6 week gradual move

Heard about this a the day after. The fact that people were loading up on Bama have people suggesting that the fix was possibly on. Add that to the way LSU played on offense and let the rumors fly.
Must ask Rummey....who is that chick in your avi. I have been wondering for a while now.

Betting lines are set to get even money on bets. Bookies and casinos want a 50/50 split and take the juice. When the line pushes bigtime, as it did the day before this game, this means that extreme money or volume are going to one team so they move the line to get people to stop going one sided. Moving this line the day before by 4 points due to betting movement is unheard of so therefore people say information was leaked of a fixed game in favor of Gumpland.

yes thats what they are implying. The line was at -3 Bama before the kickoff. Mayweather won 400K on the halftime bet.
