The West: within 6 years

The SEC: within 6 years

National title: within 6 years

I hate to break it to you guys, but aTm is not coming to the SEC as the new Arkansas or South Carolina. They are coming to be a new Alabama, LSU, or Florida.

Today was a huge day for aTm. The Big 12 staying together is exactly what they want. They are in a state with all the talent they will ever need and they are about to become the "sexy" team in Texas to go to. Their 2 biggest competitors for recruits (Texas and Oklahoma) just embarrassed each other and relegated themselves to a 2nd tier conference while aTm is headed to the big leagues.

Folks, they are going to compete for SEC titles immediately and will win one much sooner than most of you are pretending.

I'm confused how are y'all picking them to win the SEC and not win a NC?

they could win the sec in a down year and either be left out of the nc game or lose it.

I hate to break it to you, but it'll take more than just going to the SEC for A&M to snag the recruits who normally go to Texas or OU, especially while Brown and Stoops are still at those schools. There's one period of time in recent history in which the Aggies got the top-flight recruits in Texas, and they were placed on probation multiple times in the process (and Texas blew).

I would say 8 years to win the west only to get crush by Florida or UGA. It would take them that many years to rotate SEC caliber players in there and probably fire a head coach or two. Heck who knows maybe Saban might be coaching them..in which case two years from a Saban hire.

That's why I said all 3 will happen within 6 years.

are you saying we can't recruit well enough because CS isn't good enough?

We can recruit with anybody when we are winning. Houston has enough talent alone to keep us relevant

I fully agree, except for the third one - I don't have any idea how the landscape of the sport is going to change over the next few years but I think they will do spectacularly well.

And this is the one time in all of history that the top flight Texas recruits have a big time reason to choose aTm over Texas and OU. If you are a 5 star Texas recruit do you want to commit to a school where you will play in 1 or maybe 2 major games a year?

Texas and OU may as well be Boise at this point. They will play each other and occasionally a big time non con game and that is about it. Outside of Texas and OU the biggest stadium in the Big 12 will now be 70,000 seat Mizzou. Behind them it is 60,000 or below.

1. recruits aren't gonna choose Texas A&M if they have an offer from texas unless their family has A&M roots. if u think them joining the SEC is gonna change that ur dumb.

2. if they wanna play in the SEC they will go to:
LSU
Florida
Alabama

all before A&M

you mean Angola West?

You do know that by coming into the SEC while you may gain a advantage on the UT/OU marriage, you will also open the door wider to all SEC schools.

eta: and we all thank you kindly for that

Kids from Texas (for the most part) will stay in Texas if there is a program that matches their caliber of ability.

Guys, this is not just some pushover team we added for tv markets. They are going to be a player in this conference.
