1. CWill
(keeper ranking #1)

Lets just put it out there; this is the team to beat. If he doesn't make the playoffs, shame on him. I like what he did in the draft as far as hitters go. I think the pitchers he took were pretty 'meh'. This could give the rest of the league hope. An injury to one of his big 3 arms could be trouble for him. Emaus, Pagan, and Veneble were all nice picks.

best draft value: Angel Pagan in the 6th. Nice blend of speed and some pop.

Worst: Leo Nunez 2nd round. Can be wild and erratic. Thought there were better guys there.

2. Lester Earl(keeper ranking 5th)

I think I jumped up a few spots. The teams that were between me when I posted my keeper rankings, I don't think they had great drafts. I went with a lot of what i consider safe picks, while they may have gambled a little more. Lily, Anibal, DLee. I thought was good value. Wish I could have grabbed 1 more closer. Overall after CWill i think i have the most guys ready to play on the MLB level.

Best value: Raul Ibanez in the 10th. I may get 1 average half of a season out of him, but the last 2 years, he has mashed for 1 half of a season both years. Nice cheap RBI source and an OPS that wont hurt.

Worst value: Brian Fuentes in 6th. My hand was forced to gamble and hope Bailey is hurt longer than expected. I needed saves. Bad.

3. RedFigg (keeper 4th)

I like what Red did with his hitters. like Cwill, i dont evny his pitching situation. Especially with what seems like ticking time bombs Carpenter, Nathan and Lidge. HE has no depth to compensate. But I like his offense enough to rank him this high. I cant guess injuries. So i wont hold it against him. May have went overboard with taking Reds. We'll see.

Best Draft Value: Adam LAroche in the 5th. This is the type of guy i see as a keeper, not sexy but you know you'll get 25/85 or so. Decent OPS. Nice value here.

Worst Draft Value: Alex Gordon 2nd round, 3rd pick. Not sure whats up with Gordon. Has some talent, but has never hit at the MLB level. Thought it was way early for him. But could pay off if he puts it together.

4. Drunken Clams (#2 keepers)

Clams kind of did the opposite of the guys who added a lot of sticks and no pitching. He was able to grab Chazin, Big Z, and Hudson. Not bad there, huh? Got Bailey and Putz arugably the 2 best closers. Last time we saw Clams he had built a nice set of keepers of 7 hitters i believe. He matched them with some decent arms that should let him compete. I do see 3-4 guys that i really dont like that he took pretty early, but all his picks were early.

Best draft value: Tim Hudson in the 3rd. If Hudson is healthy, he has some great value here.

Worst Value: Mike Aviles in 5th. Thought there was better value at this point at this position.

5. Nobes (keepers 6th)

I like what Nobes did. He had a balanced set of keepers, and from the looks, really just took best available. He took a few guys that really need to prove themselves, but i like the talent. ie, Smoak, SRodrig, Doumit, Branyan...Is Torres a 1 year hit? His pitching didnt wow me, but Ervin Santana has upside and the Braves like the Becachy kid. i liked the Carasco pick. Playoff team if 2-3 of the guys above pan out.

Best draft value: Andres Torres round 9. I was wondering why this guy kept falling after what he did last year. Good value.

Worst Draft Value: Really went boom or bust with his 1st pick, which was 2nd round, Sean Rodriguez. Kid has upside, but has proved little. Could backfire.

6. Rouge (keeper 2nd)

I guess peeps are wondering why i dropped him a few spots...well i really just thought his draft was average to below. Prado was a great pick, after that, I dont know. Seth Smith was prob my 2nd favorite pick here. Not a Pierzynski fan or Fresse fan. He had 4 strong starters, but added Carmona and Stauffer. Could turn out all right. Still, Rouge had strong enough keepers to see playoffs. He didnt take prospects, which should pay off. Im just not really big fans of the MLB guys he picked.

Best Draft Value: Seth Smith, Rd 6. I really like this guy, good power, OPS..could put up a Hawpe like season when he was good.

Worst Draft Value: Marlon Byrd Rd 3, Freese Rd 5. I like Byrd, but he really is just kind of a fill-gap kind of guy. Not sure what to think of Freese. If he shows power like he did in AAA, ill look stupid. But he didnt flash much power as a Rookie last year.

7. Gyno (8th keepers)

Gyno cleaned up with some productive MLB guys. Abreu, McClouth(yeah i like him), Colvin. Colby Lewis was a nice pick as well as Venters/Kimbrel combo. Gyno has a balanced offense and as of now, decent pitching that could implode. Lewis will be a huge 'bridge' guys. Has the makings of a playoff team, pitching is slightly holding him back as of now.

Best Draft Value: Tyler Colvin in the 5th. WTF, how could one of the 'pedophile' managers let this youngster slip so far?

Worst draft value: AJ Burnett in 7th rd. I just dont think he has it anymore.

8. JEW-T (keepers 10th)

last time we saw Jew T his hitting was WHOA, pitching 'MEH', and his pick situation was horrible. But he did a nice job putting the pieces together and has a possible playoff team. Stockpiled some decent arms, one or 2 will have to stick. Was able to get guys like JD Drew, Bourjos, and Ludwick on his bench. They would start on Ricks team. I really like Raburn as well. His team will hinge on the old fellas he has on the hitting side.

Best draft value: JD DRew in round 9. Yeah he is always hurt, but when he plays he is really productive in this format.

Worst Draft value: Jake McGee in 3rd. Nice prospect, but too many questions to take this early. What will his role be? and performance?

9. Cajun Sox (keeper 7th)

I ticked him down a few notches, i liked some of his picks, but some of them I was like WTF!!! First glance, his offense will struggle to hit for power. AFter Dunn his best power source is....Matsui?? Pedroia?? IDK. Pitching is decent, but has the chance to become pretty erractic with Peavy, Vazquez and Dice K. This dude always surprises, but i dont know about the playoffs this year.

Best draft value: Randy Wolf Round 10. I think he can put together a solid season being a #4 guy, less pressure.

Worst Draft value: truthfully, i didnt like 9 of his first 10 picks, starting with Lance Berkman in the 1st.

10. Port City (keeper 13)

This is the last team where i feel he didnt sell out for young prospects. Kudos. Also may be the last of the true playoff contenders. I like the starters on both sides, but the benches to me look like shite sandwiches. But i did want Bill Hall. Nice pick. Maybe Borbon or Fowler could be dealt if someone needs speed.

Best Draft Value: Jair Jurrjens 4th round pick 15. This guy was once drooled over. I think he still has it. Braves will contend, and bring the best out of him if he stays healthy.

Worst Value: Juan Uribe the pick before. I think he will get fat and content after last year. Moving to a pitchers park as well, his numbers will drop. His position scarcity is valuable, however.

11. Goodfellas (11th keepers)

Earl stayed put. You know, i really like the MLB ready players on his roster. But there is just too many minor leaguers scattered in, i cant see how he can compete with the big boys. By my count he has 5 minor leaguers, 2 other guys already hurt, and Chipper JOnes. His staff is kind of shakey, but i tell you what, he could give some team fits on his good weeks.

Best Draft Value : Ben Francisco round 12. I think this guy will see a lot of good pitches, could hit 25 HR. STeal a few bags. Good value there.

Worst Draft Value: Brandon Belt, pick 1. Decent prospect, but i dont think his power will ever project for him to be elite. Had a chance to play for this year, but choose not too. Disappointing considering all the prospects he had stocked already.

12. Barry (keeper 9th)

Barry a lot like Rmcc, i just kept saying WTF to some of his picks. I liked the Cuddyer pick, and Bret Lawrie. CJ Wilson was a strong pick on the pitcher side. But i felt like he missed the boat on a lot of the other guys, in terms of "tying in" with what he had kept. Ya know, i like some of his hitters. But it is kind of choppy. If he can get anything out of Rolen and Mags, he could potentially see himself in the playoff race. I feel like he drafted the 2000 All Star team. Pitching should be ok, but Arroyo and Bailey were total homer picks. I dont care if Arroyo throws 200 IP.

Best Draft Value: Bret Lawrie Rd 6. Young stud, should see time this year. Has 2B elig and should gain 3B elig shortly after being called up.

Worst Draft value: Arroyo, 4th round. Really bad value considering what was available.

13. Boo (12th keeper)

Boo had a shitload of picks, as we all know. And watching him draft, he seemed to be all over the place. I thought he could have put together a team that could compete, because in the past he has had decent teams. One this i like is he got a lot of MLB or close to MLB ready talent. When he wasnt taking prospects, i thought he got REALLY steal heavy. I see some promise though, i think he definitely improved on what he had.

Best Draft Value: Johan Santana 8th round. Its really hard to pinpoint what Boo valued in the draft. I think he knew what he wanted. But i think after the AS break, Santana can fetch him something to build on for next year.

Worst draft value: Nishikoa in the 2nd. Dont really know shite about him, but looks like another lite hitting Charlie from the pacific.

14. The Rick

Kudos to rick, i also think he is in a better spot than what he was. Still has a lot of steal guys and a lack of power, but he added a few nice pieces in the draft. He took Pierre and Bourn in 2nd and 3rd? Then Figgins in 5th? WTF> I think a few of the guys on his bench will have some value later in season. He better hope Morneau is healthy or his power is going to severely lack. His staff is Ok, there are worse in the league.

Best draft value: James Loney in 7th. Nice RBI source, ok power. Should score some runs.

Worst Draft Value: Pierre, Bourn, Figgins, Theiort..All in the first 7 rounds. Kind of overkill, rick.

15. Honkus

3 year plan is in effect. i like that Honk didnt totally sell out, even given his position. Got a decent mix of MLB ready guys and prospects in the draft. Though his offense depends solely if these guys show up: Arencibia, Brett Wallace, Kila, Morrison. If they are players, he will have some fun this year. If not, it will be a long year for HOnk. Pitching is a lot of prospects, A guy like Lackey could yield something down the stretch. Prob the worst staff in the league at this point, just because of lack of numbers and MLB ready talent.

Best Draft Value: Lackey in the 5th. A former frontline guy, a decent 1st half could yield some talent or picks back.

Worst draft value: hard to judge because of what his M.O. was, but Evan Meek in round 4 was a head scratcher. Would be a decent piece on a competitior, but where he is at, i dont know how helpful he'll be.

my team looks Red happy cuz I took two prospects with my last two picks. It's really just Gomes and Wood.

Boo had a shitload of picks, as we all know. And watching him draft, he seemed to be all over the place.

A few guys (Ichiro, Bedard, Martin, Johan) fell that didn't really fit the mold I was going for, but I think they could all have legit trade value during the season. I just couldn't pass up Ichiro in the middle of the second round, or Johan with my last pick, no matter the round. At that point there were no prospects I really had to have.

I was real happy with the young talent I picked up... wish I had a few more bats but my pitching depth (and youth) I really like.

Best Draft Value: Bret Lawrie Rd 6. Young stud, should see time this year. Has 2B elig and should gain 3B elig shortly after being called up.

He was next up in my queue at that point... frick.

but the benches to me look like shite sandwiches.

Most of my picks came between round 10 - 16 so I'm happy with the players I was able to pick up. Obviously I like Moreland and Hall considering I have them in RW3R. I'm not big on Uribe but he is someone that can play three positions that are hard to fill.

Only real prospect I grabbed was Dee Gordon who could end up being an Elvis Andrus type player as soon as next year, unles you consider Fowler still a prospect - I'm hoping he can be a Sizemore type of player.

Overall I agree with your rankings. I think that really the 4th - 12 teams and maybe one or two more can compete.

I'll find out a lot about my team in the first 3 weeks vs Gyno, McCain, and CWill. If I can get through that gauntlet around .500 I will be pretty happy.

Shock value... the guy just wants to get a rise out of other people. So acting as tasteless as possible is his strategy.

No wonder he's been banned from here about a dozen times. (at least...)

I would delete it. It's just going to mess up this thread and give him the attention that he's looking for.

Evan Meek in round 4 was a head scratcher. Would be a decent piece on a competitior,

Possible trade value if he takes over for Joel?

One of my goals was to grab young setup men who are poised to become closers. Once Bard went I had to grab Meek ASAP

ETA: great breakdown Les
