Let's check out the good

quote:

Best value: Raul Ibanez in the 10th. I may get 1 average half of a season out of him, but the last 2 years, he has mashed for 1 half of a season both years. Nice cheap RBI source and an OPS that wont hurt.

quote:

Worst value: Brian Fuentes in 6th. My hand was forced to gamble and hope Bailey is hurt longer than expected. I needed saves. Bad.

quote:

I like what Red did with his hitters. like Cwill, i dont evny his pitching situation.

quote:

Especially with what seems like ticking time bombs Carpenter, Nathan and Lidge. HE has no depth to compensate

quote:

Worst Value: Mike Aviles in 5th. Thought there was better value at this point at this position.

quote:

Best draft value: Tim Hudson in the 3rd. If Hudson is healthy, he has some great value here.

quote:

He took a few guys that really need to prove themselves, but i like the talent. ie, Smoak, SRodrig, Doumit, Branyan...

1/2 and 1/2

quote:

Worst Draft Value: Really went boom or bust with his 1st pick, which was 2nd round, Sean Rodriguez. Kid has upside, but has proved little. Could backfire.

quote:

Prado was a great pick, after that, I dont know. Seth Smith was prob my 2nd favorite pick here. Not a Pierzynski fan or Fresse fan. He had 4 strong starters,

quote:

Best Draft Value: Seth Smith, Rd 6. I really like this guy, good power, OPS..could put up a Hawpe like season when he was good.

Worst Draft Value: Marlon Byrd Rd 3, Freese Rd 5. I like Byrd, but he really is just kind of a fill-gap kind of guy. Not sure what to think of Freese. If he shows power like he did in AAA, ill look stupid. But he didnt flash much power as a Rookie last year.

quote:

nice pick as well as Venters/Kimbrel combo

quote:

Worst Draft value: Jake McGee in 3rd. Nice prospect, but too many questions to take this early. What will his role be? and performance?

quote:

Pitching is decent, but has the chance to become pretty erractic with Peavy, Vazquez and Dice K. This dude always surprises, but i dont know about the playoffs this year.

quote:

Best draft value: Randy Wolf Round 10. I think he can put together a solid season being a #4 guy, less pressure.

quote:

Best Draft Value: Jair Jurrjens 4th round pick 15. This guy was once drooled over. I think he still has it. Braves will contend, and bring the best out of him if he stays healthy.

Worst Value: Juan Uribe the pick before. I think he will get fat and content after last year. Moving to a pitchers park as well, his numbers will drop. His position scarcity is valuable, however.

quote:

I liked the Cuddyer pick, and Bret Lawrie. CJ Wilson was a strong pick on the pitcher side.

quote:

Pitching should be ok, but Arroyo and Bailey were total homer picks. I dont care if Arroyo throws 200 IP.

quote:

Worst draft value: Nishikoa in the 2nd. Dont really know shite about him, but looks like another lite hitting Charlie from the pacific.

quote:

Worst Draft Value: Pierre, Bourn, Figgins, Theiort..All in the first 7 rounds. Kind of overkill, rick.

quote:

Worst draft value: hard to judge because of what his M.O. was, but Evan Meek in round 4 was a head scratcher. Would be a decent piece on a competitior, but where he is at, i dont know how helpful he'll be.

Well, he did break his leg about a week in... hard to see that coming. Not that he's done much since he's been back.
