He has had a real QB for 1 of his 4 seasons. Flynn is that real QB. Crowton has not had a chance since then because Lee and JJ are vastly inferior QB's.

Let's hope Mett gets a real chance and not just lip service from CLM.

So, as long as we can keep getting QBs that get the proper coaching before they get to Crowton, we'll be fine?

The offense that was run in 2007 was different from what was run 2008-2010.

Fact.

JJ's issues are way beyond coaching. He is a very poor passing QB. Period.

Lee sucked in his freshman campaign and has never been given any real chance since, so he has not had the first team reps/etc to develop.

Either way, Crowton has not had a chance to succeed. Am I happy with what he has done, not really, but he has had horrid QB play since Flynn left campus. Period.

I guess Dennis Dixon and John Beck weren't "real" QBs either.

Son of a bitch. Crowton's job is to DEVELOP QB's not inherit "real" QB's.

crowton's offense has always gone to shite with time, and it's playing out to a tee at LSU. real QB or not, his offense gets figured out real quick.

Wrong.

Flynn had the advantage of having Jimbo Fisher for several years coaching and developing him.

Flynn was a 5th year senior during Crowton's first year. Not so much that Flynn was a 'real' QB, but that he had been developed well by the previous coach.

There's 'no real quarterback' at LSU? Sure you do (or rather, you did). His name is Russell Shepard. But since Gary Crowton can't develop a quarterback, he's playing WR.

So why would any 'real' QB want to go to LSU if the best QB coming out of high school the past 5 years is now a WR on your team?

BTW, thanks for running Jimbo out of town. Gave us the chance to finally can Bobby's geriatric arse.

How many teams have a "real" QB would you say? You know how many good college offenses don't have a QB that goes to the NFL, let alone one that throws 3 TDs vs the best team in the NFL in his first start?

Crowton could have Brett Favre, Joe montana, Archie Manning, he still screws it up.

How many times has this board had this discussion? This is getting old--but one more time, Crowton has had plenty of time, 4 years, only one good year, the very first, when he inherited a 5th year QB he did not develop. He is supposed to develop QB's & call plays. He has done both very poorly & it is time for him to go. Hopefully, Les will take care of business & get a new OC after the Cotton Bowl.
