No need for a guide. Build a couple of points and go. Son and I tagged out by 1 pm on day one.
If you have low points, pay a trespass fee on a ranch. Call the chamber of commerce in towns in eastern Wyoming.

Yup, western states are forcing out the DIY public guys even though they provide the majority of the funding.

No guide needed. We got tags in Eastern Wyoming and stayed in a mom/pop motel in a small town. Get On/x on your phone (or similar) so you know where you are on public land. Go hunt.

Go ahead and ask questions on here.
Keys are-

OnX
GOHUNT or whatever OnX now has with premium membership
Extra gas can
Two spares and/or tire plug and air compressor
Antelope points
low points means you either wait or pay a trespass fee on a ranch. Generally, the more public land available equals more points required.

I shared these pics a while back. Just gives you an idea what can happen with a little planning. We waited to go until sons fall break, so there were hardly any hunters. The lopes were also more skittish.

Guide if you want but there is no need.

How many points do you have?

I recommend ponying up and getting in the special draw if you are absolutely committed on going next year. Look at units with high % of accessible public land

Pardon my ignorance, but what does trespass fee mean?

Im looking to do this hunt in 2023. I currently have 3 Antelope points and 2 deer points. Hoping that can get me in a decent unit.

I went with a friend of a friend's in MT, great trip, killed a great goat.

Well he had a "buddy" with him so had a nice camera and was taking all the pics.

"Buddy" turned out to be a bit of a commie, never got my pics.

Will be going back to that spot though.

2023 Wyoming antelope draw is gonna be a shitshow from everything I'm reading. 3 or 4 points won't get you anything like it would have 3 years ago. We are planning on burning our points next year though.

It is going to get worse everywhere, the days of going out west every year or two will be a thing of the past except for those who want to pay big $. Talking to a buddy who is in Utah game and fish MT/WY will be raising tag and draw prices two more time over the next 5 years. Both are also going to cut back on the amount of OOS tags, besides what WY has already announced.

To the OP I've got a guide I booked with for a hunt this year but didn't draw. If you want his information post your email and I'll get it to you. Or anybody else that wants it.
