I won one at a fishing tournament as a door prize. I like it but wouldn't spend 300 on a ice chest. I'm sure it would come in handy in mid August during a hurricane when Ice is hard to find.

this is what gets me. Everyone I know either won theirs or was gifted it. It's just not something people go out and buy for their selves unless they have a big arse offshore rig.

I'm sure it's a great product, but there is a section of yeti owners who bought a yeti so that they can tell their friends they have a yeti and andvertise it on the back of their jacked up 4x4.

It's become a redneck status symbol for some, which makes me weep for humanity

I'm a bit of a smartass at times and have contemplated buying an igloo sticker for my car but haven't seen one

Yes, the "look at me y'all I gotta Yeti durrr" crowd successfully rustles my jimmies every time.

This guy

But I might get one one day. I am gonna measure the height of my boat's front deck and find an ice chest that is the same height.

A guy I know bought two or three of them to keep in his offshore boat and I can contest that it makes a difference. We use to go tuna fishing on over night trips and all the beer ice would melt half way into the first day. Now it last almost the entire trip.

I know a gentleman that purchased 3 of them on the live auction at Josey's benefit a few weeks ago. He took home $2,500 of Yetis that evening. They did contain mystery guns in them and it went to a great cause. Point being, that man was serious as shite about becoming a Yeti that evening.

I mean it's way worse than the Maui Jim and Costa crowd.
At least those sunglasses are utilitarian.

One of the few logical reasons to justify buying a yeti

I Yeti, got a good price on the 75 and I've used it a few times already. I justified them largely based on durability. I go through 1-2 of the inexpensive coolers a year with broken latches/handles, etc. Sure it would probably be cheaper to buy another inexpensive cooler or get replacement parts but I'm willing to pay a premium to not deal with the hassle. No jacked up truck and no Yeti stickers though...

Pretty sure they fit the mold because they stay put better on the decks from the weight. They also last much longer and take more abuse than say igloos.
Might hold ice a little longer than other icechests but this is probably negligible.

Let me know if you find a good one.

Igloo could actually market an anti-yeti sticker w/ their logo on it w/ what I would expect to be outrageous success.

Plus, I think that would be a great branding of their company. "Igloo: I just want my ice chest to cool, not my reputation"

If given one I would keep it and use it and crow about it as others do. However, I don't need and ice chest that costs 20x a normal ice chest when an igloo, etc., works fine for what I need.
